Description: Charles Draghi and Joan Johnson's highly acclaimed contemporary Italian restaurant and wine bar. With Charles' simple, ever changing menus, rooted in traditional regional Italian cooking, and the best seasonal local ingredients. This restaurant has won numerous awards and kudos from critics, and many loyal guests. Alongside the Italian menus an equally lauded, all Italian wine list, comprised of rare and traditional village wines. The enoteca/wine bar is a cozy and lively meeting place, with its own menu of simple plates and a fun cordial cocktail list.

“Quirky restaurant, great food and fantastic atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

We booked this restaurant for 7 of us after attending a conference event. This restaurant is located in a hidden location behind a busy street in Boston city center. As there were few Church Streets in Boston, it did take the taxi driver a while to find the exact location of the restaurant. However, it didn't put off the great dining experience there. The decoration of the restaurant is very quirky and eccentric. As we were sitting by the window, there were three big vases full of blossoming sunflowers. Yes, there were sunflowers all over the window ! It became one of talking points of our night. The waiter were very knowledgeable about food. He was probably one of the best waiters that we were ever came across who can tell not only the content of the food but also how the food is being cooked: very detailed and very professional. Because of his description, I actually ordered one food based on his recommendation: Wild Boar. This dish was rather unusual and it won't be found in most of the restaurants. Even though the meat was cooked slightly pink but excellently seasoned. What a surprise!Definitely recommended if you are into game meat. As the decoration of the restaurant is non threatening, it is actually a great location for chilled out. As most of us just came out from serious function, we let our hair down and enjoyed ourselves without worrying too much about being serious and pretentious inside the restaurant. In conclusion, what I can say more, fantastic Italian restaurant with full of characters and great food.

We were fortunate to be in Boston on one of the evenings when Erbaluce is open. Not your run of the mill Italian but food prepared individually with great knowledge and expertise encompassing a delightful mixture of flavours. Superb wine list including wines from the Trentino region of Italy which I have never had other than in Italy. The low key exterior gives no indication of the dining experience inside. Limited number of table so booking recommended.

“The heirloom tomato salad was unforgettable!!!”

It was a last minute decision to dine at this restaurant before seeing a show at the Wilbur Theater just two blocks away. We had such an unforgettable meal I just had to write this review. The restaurant is on a quainte corner street, with awesome atmosphere, service, freshly prepared food, and within walking distance to the theater district. The waitress and assistant paid very close attention to our needs; clearing the table quickly between courses. Then at the end of the meal the hostess delivered the most delicious little tidbits; meringues and truffles; they were simple and deliciously exquisite!

“Nice meal!”

Ordered the razor clams in Trieste sauce. Clams were tough, sauce delicious. Porchetta entree was disappointing. Three slices of pork, half fat. Not anything similar to the porchetta I have eaten in Italy. Accompanied by roasted potatoes and kale. San Daniele prosciutto and melon good but melon sliced so thin it was barely tasted. Striped bass was exquisite.

“Pleasant Surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

Looking for a dinner location near Boston Park Plaza Hotel, we found this restaurant and were so happy to have found it. Lovely intimate space and a menu that had so many wonderful new items that is was hard to choose. However, each choice seemed to be better than the last. The menu changes daily and uses seasonal fare and fresh herbs.
