With Charles' simple, ever changing menus, rooted in traditional regional Italian cooking, and the best seasonal local ingredients. This restaurant has won numerous awards and kudos from critics, and many loyal guests. Alongside the Italian menus an equally lauded, all Italian wine list, comprised of rare and traditional village wines. We went to Erbaluce tonight, we found it last year. I have to write this down before I forget.
Had a lobster minestrone soup, huge chunks of lobster, cannoli beans, carrots, cabbage and fresh cherry tomatoes in a very light broth with a hint of spicy heat. We shared a ravioli stuffed with veal & wild boar. Perfect touch of fresh Parmesan and a veal broth with wild boar prosciutto. Main course was a perfectly roasted duck with a sweet tomato salsa and a duck risotto wrapped in a wonderful leaf of Swiss chard. Dessert was a perfectly poached pear, stuffed with marscapone and covered in caramel. Amazing dinner and wonderfully informed staff. By the way, the honey macaroons brought to the table with the check were to die for!

This is a must visit for couples. Very nice Atmosphere. Dim lights and candles. Excellence server service. Good selection of food. Food is very fresh and very delicious. Excellent selection of wine.

Best access is from Stuart Street. If you are following directions on trip adviser it will take you to the back of the restaurant and it's easily missed. Go down the Stewart Street (if going from direction from Rwvere hotel) and you will see the restaurant on left sitting in the back. It is on the same intersection as Maggianos.

Ii is in a higher price range but definitely worth it.

If you're out for a special night of dining and happen to be staying at the Park Plaza, there's no other choice. The extensive wine list impresses, the chef absolutely impresses with offerings like parsnip gnocchi with Wild Boar Ragu, as tender as I've ever tasted, even in Abruzzo. The server was exceptional, never interrupting at our table of four, as many servers do, when they think it's time to check on the table. Delightful server. This husband and wife duo and their team of professional waitstaff are worth the bucks. We tried each other's plates, but a good thing to do would be to try everything on the menu and dine family style. That way, you can try all the kitchen's wonderful explosions of flavor and creativity. I can't wait to go there during Spring and Summer and try the selections. Well Done Erbaluce!!

We have now been to Erbaluce four times, and each time it has been wonderful. As others have mentioned in their reviews, this is an Italian restaurant with a refreshing, and innovative (but not TOO innovative) take on many classic regional dishes. To really enjoy this place, you should be a bit adventuresome, and willing to try some of their more interesting twists on things. Some of the innovations seem to spring from a French, rather than Italian source.

I'd also put in a plug for the wine list. For wine geeks like me, the list has a number of really interesting, less common Italian regions, varietals and growers available, many of which are outstanding matches to the equally outstanding food. The owner had a lot of really great ideas in terms of what might work with what special his chef was working on. And none of them were over-the-top in terms of cost.

All-in-all, this is a gem. I highly recommend Erbaluce for those who love Italian food, but are looking for something special.

We made a reservation on OpenTable on the freezing Saturday night after Valentine's Day -- and were seated immediately when we walked in although the place was packed. We had a great meal that was interesting and delicious. Not your traditional Italian food -- it was lovely.
