We waited in line for about 15 min and then it took 45 min for our food to cook. We were starving when we finally got to eat. The food was great, I got the breakfast torta which had avocado potatoes and salsa in it

Really... There is literally one table. We beat the rush by 20 minutes and actually got to sit down! Grilled banana sandwich is the way to go.

As other reviewers have noted, yes call ahead of time. i called them at 8 on a saturday morning, and the first call didnt go through (probably because someone called before me) but i hung up and tried again. easy breezy. they said 20 mins but it really turned out to be 30 - no biggie.

place is on a corner and unless you go through trip advisor, you probably wont find this place since it's out of any touristy area and nestled in a neighborhood.

our favorites in order at the end: the fancy, croque madame, migas and breakfast torta.

the fancy had the best flavor out of the four - if you can share a sandwich because you want to try the croque madame then do so because the croque madame is probably their 2nd best item imo, though a bit on the salty side... anyway the migas was good and breakfast torta was good blend of flavors as well, but the only thing i wasn't too fond of was that i felt that the potato is really meant to be a filler item in the sandwich.

the price is something that is worth splurging on if you weren't a local and being from out of town, well, the taste justified the splurge.

if we are going back boston in the future, you can be sure that we'll be hitting this place up again!

We read about this place online as having the best sandwiches. It was only a few blocks from our hotel so we went there right after they opened on a Sunday morning. We had walked by the day before and the line was huge, so we wanted to get there early. We arrived about 8:10am and they had orders already being called in. My fiance and I both ordered the breakfast torta that we read about and they said it would be about a 20 minute wait! Geez! They seemed to be a bit disorganized in there. They were sending someone out to get ice for drinks/iced coffee, oil and some other things. The sandwich was good but not amazing. The beans had no taste, but the salsa was good. Next time I would definitely get some chorizo on it. As is, it felt like it was missing something.

Pros:
* The "fancy" breakfast sandwich is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!
* The coffee is great
* Large variety of hot sauces :D
* The staff is super nice

Cons:
* Not a sit-down restaurant, as I was expecting. It's a counter with a tiny kitchen and a table for 4 in the corner.
* It is a victim of its size and popularity. I waited over 20 minutes for my order. It was worth it but after a long overnight trip on a Greyhound bus, I was looking forward to a sit-down breakfast.

Tips:
* Call your order in and pick it up later when it's ready
* Take your order to go and eat at the garden at the corner of Church and Melrose. It's beautiful.
