I am not going to sugar coat this at all, I am NOT easy to please. Period. I work in hospitality management so my expectations can be quite high. This Holiday Inn Express is FANTASTIC! Our room was very clean and well equipped with standard amenities as well as some nice additions. Loved that the sample toiletries were bath and body works, nice touch!
Boston is tough because it is expensive. Pretty much no matter where you make a reservation, you pay out the you know what. This hotel is in a great location for a number of different things that may bring you to the city.
The absolute best part of our stay was the staff here. They are fantastic! I would love to pack them all up in my suitcase and bring them to work with me. When you stay at ordinary chain hotels it is often lacking some character since you pretty much know what to expect everywhere. The staff here truly made an ordinary hotel into a home away from home. The front desk ladies are professional and courteous as well as more than willing to help you with any of your needs.
Thanks for a great stay! We will return to this Holiday Inn Express next time we are in Boston.

This holiday inn isn't the most amazing place in the world but it was clean and comfortable. There was lots of noise from the motorway outside but we did have a room overlooking it. The air con was the under the window type and very noisy as was the constant click and whine from the fridge.
The room also had a microwave and coffee machine although this was tiny and only had one coffee bag. If your from the UK as we are you may expect a higher standard from holiday inn.

The parking wasn't good and there was no where for us to park so we had to ask if we could park in one of the disabled bays which was ok as it was right next to the doors however, the stares and comments the next morning as we rearranged our luggage by the car from people as we were obviously fit and in a disabled spot.

Breakfast was ok, nothing flash and very very basic. The staff were nice as to be expected. I think the whole place needs a sort of lift it looks quite old inside it needs that certain something perhaps a renovation.

However, the place was fine for us we just needed somewhere to sleep after a long flight and this did the job, probably not somewhere you would base yourself for a holiday but fine for a jet lagged one nights sleep.

Room Tip: Away from motorway and shaded side so you don't need air con on and turn off the fridge..

I stay in a lot of Holiday Inn's around the UK and US - staying in this HIE was by far the best experience ever. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in great condition (some in the group are a little shabby) and is in a great location. You can walk to the market area and the Freedom Trail is just a few short blocks away.

We loved staying here - the staff made all the difference.

We were boarding a cruise out of Boston the next day but were coming from New Jersey. So instead of racing up there in the morning and stressing out about traffic, we decided to go up the night before and stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The best thing about it was that if you stay here and are taking a cruise, you can leave your car there for free for the week and take their free shuttle to the ship. It was worth it just for that because parking near the ship is expensive. It should probably be a 3-star, but I'm giving it an extra one just for that awesome deal.

We got in pretty late and our room was ready and a decent size. Although we didn't go to these places, it seemed convenient to the airport, the South End, Chinatown, the Theater District, UMass and plenty of other things.

It included breakfast, which was small, but all we needed since we were headed to the buffet on the cruise.

The gentleman who checked us in was not terribly friendly. We chalked that up to it being 11:00pm and he was probably tired, but then the woman at the desk the next morning wasn't friendly either so who knows.

Overall, it was just what we needed in a hotel. It was clean and easy to park there.

What a great place to stay. Our room was very clean with plenty of linens and a choice of pillow types, and the bed was very comfortable. Within walking distance to Olive Garden, Applebee's and some local resturant's, there is also a Target close by. They have a bus that will take you and pick you up from the subway station, so you can travel the city for $5.00. They will also pick you up and return you to the airport. The hotel staff was most helpful in recommending resturant's close by to try. If I visit this area again, I would certainly stay here again.

The only thing saving this hotel from getting a lower review is that the front desk staff were very nice and helpful...most of the time. (I could not get step by step assistance on the phone to purchase T-tickets from the train station.)
This hotel is a shuttle and a 15 minute train ride from the areas of Boston that you will want to see. There is nothing but a Dunkin Donuts to eat nearby and that is still about a 5 minute walk. The free breakfast is incredibly gross and unhealthy unless you eat one of their unripened pieces of fruit. (The gravy for the biscuits and gravy looked like a disgusting paste.) The walls of this hotel are paper thin and you can hear everything next to you, above and below you and outside.
We received a friends and family discount, which was still far more than this stay was worth.
If you are just needing a bed for the night and you sleep soundly and you are moving on the next day, you might stay here if you can get a good price. (Although the bedding was dirty during our stay too.) Otherwise, I would not advise using this hotel.

Room Tip: I am not sure if there is a good room. The location is right off the highway and near a big box sho...

Book this hotel for 2 nights prior to going on a cruise. Very clean but is a little dated. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately there was no pool but nice patio area to sit out on. Close to metro and staff very knowledgeable about routes so we got around quite well. Restaurants with in walking distance making dinner easy with 2 grandchildren. provided free shuttle to and from cruise terminal and free parking for the week. booked on line through park & go and got a great rate for Boston.
