Description: Open 7 days a week, dbar is a full service restaurant that seamlessly transforms into a nightclub and lounge as the night goes on. Formally an old school Irish pub filled with mahogany charm, dbar has been renovated into a hip chic hot spot. With warm glowing candles & long leather banquettes, dbar offers a casual and comfortable atmosphere that attracts clientele from Dorchester and surrounding areas.

A jewel on gritty Dot Ave., this neighborhood hotspot serves a refreshingly color-full clientele with open arms. The comfy menu reflects a committment to local and fresh ingredients with a frenchish twist. The thought and effort they put into their dishes takes the food to a level beyond what you would expect given the gruff working class exterior. Dbar is as much a restaurant as it is nightclub, so drop in for a great dinner with friendly, casual but refined service and stick around for drinks after as the DJ spins up a good time later in the evening. Darn good bartending too. In the warmer months enjoy brunch out on the back patio, no doubt featuring some fresh veggies and herbs grown on their rooftop garden.

I come here typically about once a week, and I have to say that it is one of the best places to dine in Boston, particularly for the price point. I don't know how other reviewers can complain about price - there are plenty of entree choices on the menu for less than $20, yet the quality of the food, service, and presentation can compete with restaurants in town that cost much, much more. I agree with others that the surrounding area is not necessarily the nicest part of town, but this is probably why you are able to get such a fantastic meal at a resonable price point. It's still safe, and there is parking. I highly recommend their chicken under a brick, bolognese, and burger. And Dbar has some of the most professional, polished wait staff around.

This casual restaurant is in a rather unattractive area on Dorchester Avenue near nothing. But once you get there the dulll exterior is not very inviting. Once inside you have a choice of a dark long room or an outdoor garden. We were in the garden. The food however is impressive. Truly marvelous and creative dish of asparagus with snails and slices of herbed butter. Hake with a corn bacon, asparagus macedoine both were worth a return visit. The seared Tuna was perfectly seared. Put this on you list for a wonderful casual meal. I expect it can be loud inside, but the dark interior looks warm and cozy. Ready to return.

Went there for dinner with a local friend on a Sunday night. Setting is nice and trendy but food is overpriced and bland (giannoni chicken under the brick). For the price you pay, I'd recommend this place for drinks and appetizers. You can find much better places for dinner. The service was excellent.

Went here for a great Boston Burger. It was ok, but what made me write this was the waiter. Could you have been any ruder? When my partner asked for a Dr. Pepper, you threw the menu at him and said: *No we don't, choose something else*. Seriously? You're a rude queen that needs an attitude adjustment.
