My daughter and I stayed at the Millennium Bostonian for 2 days in February while we looked at colleges. I lived in Boston for 15 years, but had never been inside the hotel. It's a pleasant little property. It's right across from the North End (lots of great Italian restaurants), Faneuil Hall, Government Center and the whole of downtown is just a short stroll or subway ("T") ride away. The room was small-average sized, fine for 2. The hotel had completed a renovation in 2011, I believe, and things were still fresh. The lobby fireplace is a nice touch. Some rooms have small balconies, a unique touch. We had breakfast at North 26 restaurant. Had great food & service. It was nice to see the hustle and bustle of the financial district on a weekday morning as we looked out the window. On Saturdays Hay Market farmers market is adjacent to the hotel. Lot's of fun to go to as you will feel like you've stepped back in time. Part of the renovation included soundproof windows, as the market can be noisy, but it's not a problem now. The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms decent size and included upscale amenities. I would definitely stay here again!

Dear Past Guest,

We thank you for your contribution and comments related to product, service and location and are grateful for your endorsement of our hotel.

Millennium Bostonian Hotel favors minimal marketing dollars targeted at driving consumer interest and rather relies on past guest online reviews to entice future guests'. We are very proud of our high return ratios as a result of our commitment to service and product.

Our premier location, at Boston's oldest historic address, the Blackstone Block, has been a favored location for hundreds of years and remains a peak area of interest, and convenience, for both leisure and business travelers. The adjacent Rose Kennedy Gardens, leading into Boston's famous Italian North End is a pleasant stroll in any season and is one of several historic locations within steps of the Bostonian.

Please let us know if we can offer any 'insider' information on Boston as you search for a college location, as a fair number of our staff are lifelong residents.

Again, thank you,

Robert Rivers

Location, location. Across the street from Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, and nearly next door to the Union Oyster House, this hotel is as centrally located as you can find in Boston. The room was spacious and spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The doorman can summon a taxi anytime you need one and does so with a greeting and a smile. A short walk from all the sights on the Freedom Trail, and from excellent dining in the North End. Nestled in the Blackstone Block, a web of 17th century lanes and alleyways, the hotel is part of the oldest neighborhood in Boston. The hotel restaurant offers an excellent breakfast with views of the historic city coming to life.

Room Tip: A couple of rooms have interior stairs - avoid them if you are mobility challenged.

Yes parking is expensive at $45 a night. As mentioned in other reviews location is superb. North End, Italian neighborhood, a few blocks away. Quincy Market, tourist hot spot, across the street. We were there on a Friday night so farmers' market at Haymarket, was literally outside my window. We attended a concert at the Garden that was also a short walk away. I arrived before my wife and brought our bags up. I stopped on my way to meet my wife and bought some roses from the aforementioned market and brought them back in to the desk. They were in a vase in the room when I arrived back along with a second bathrobe I had requested. Being a concert visit I was delighted to find I could plug my IPod into the clock radio. I was disappointed that we were unable to get a snack after the concert as the kitchen closed at 10:30. The room was splendid even if only a "standard". Considering it was the weekend of the Boston Marathon it was a surprisingly hassle free weekend. Not cheap but a wonderful indulgence.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a bit less street/traffic noise. You could ask for North End or Quincy Market vie...

Reception was lovely and efficient once we pointed out we had booked a room with a bath.Beds are enormous and the whole room is lovely, view over the market in our case. Had breakfast in the hotel because otherwise there did not seem to be any proper cafes and it was delicious. Concierge is the place to get a cab otherwise you get a driver who has not got a clue.
Location is good and central and just a short walk to North end and more Italian restaurants than you need. Also on heritage trail so very convenient

Walk out the front door and just a few blocks away you will find yourself in the North End (or what some might call "Little Italy" for a delicious meal. Or maybe you'd rather see Quincy Market (convenient for a quick breakfast, but otherwise very touristy). Clean, modern room. Expensive parking, $45. Exceptionally courteous and helpful staff! We had a room on the second floor overlooking the Haymarket and the cobblestone drive to the service entrance. Observing the market from above (produce sellers, Saturday afternoon to evening) was interesting, but beware that the service entrance might be utilized at 5 am! We did not hear any voices, but did notice the "hospitality services" truck pull in and unload for about a half hour (a rolling cart over the cobbles). Not awful, but ask for a different room if you do not rise early. We would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Don't sleep over the service entrance/parking lot driveway if you are a light sleeper. Consider...

Dear Recent Guest,

We appreciate your recent visit and welcome your feedback which is shared with all hotel associates.

Boston has significant historical, and protected pedestrian ways, which, like the cobblestones, create their own issue. However, we, as a hotel can evaluate delivery times to minimize interruption of our guests' slumber.

Again, thank you,

Stayed here for 3 nights during Easter. The location is superb -- but unfortunately this means that parking is expensive ($45 per night). The hotel itself is tastefully decorated and the rooms were clean, modern and had all the usual amenities. The beds were excellent. Staff were extremely friendly and professional.

If price isn't an issue, I recommend staying here. If you're on a budget, there are probably more suitable hotels in Boston.

Dear Easter Guest,

Thank you for spending three days of your R&R with Millennium Bostonian and we are grateful.

We agree that Boston parking is expensive and a mere break even operation for most downtown hotels. With this in mind, our valet team works diligently to provide superior service in the most efficient manner to at least validate some of the cost.

Please send me a note for your next visit, and although I am restricted on parking cost, I would be happy to offset the expense with a complimentary upgrade.

Again, thank you,

I was uncertain about this hotel based on reviews I had seen on various travel sites, but I am glad we stayed there. On arrival, your car is taken away by the valet parking staff; I guess you could park yourself (perhaps cheaper - valet parking is $45/night) but you have to know where to go - I didn't.
Check-in was courteous and efficient, and we soon found ourselves in a reasonably-sized room in the "new" building. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities one would expect of a hotel of this type. The only downside was that there were no ice machines; ice had to be requested from room service, and our first attempt at trying this resulted in three phone calls and nearly an hour wait.
The location is great - opposite Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, on the roughly mid-way point of the Freedom Trail, five minutes walk to the North End, fifteen minutes (if that) to Boston Common; perfect location for exploring a human-scale city on foot.
But the best part of the hotel was Gabriel, the concierge. A most amazing person! He was knowledgeable, friendly, full of advice and suggestions, and helpful to a fault. He adds hugely to the reasons for staying at the Millenium Bostonian.

Dear Recent Guest,

Thank you for your comments, both for praise of service and guest experience improvement. Your comments will be reviewed with our team and recognition awarded, where noted.

With reference to your ice order, this is intended to be a service and not an inconvenience, as our ice is not froze to order! Truly, there is no excuse and our Room Service Manager and team will review your comments and improve performance.

Upon my return to the hotel, I will personally applaud Gabrielle's performance and share your comments. Gabrielle is a tenured hotel professional and his commitment to service is genuine, and we realize his guest contribution.
