“Excellent Hotel, Central Location, Great Service in Central Boston Location”
Reviewed August 19, 2009

Went to Boston to visit colleges with my family (two teenagers) and decided to stay at the Lenox (I know Boston and visit on business often, but never stayed at the Lenox). Hotel is older, classic building but in mint condition. Had a junior suite ($285/night), room 923. Room was large with 2 queen beds, a loveset/sofa, arm chair, and coffee table. Large closet and lots of drawers. Very nicely decorated/furnished. Large, nice bathroom with excellent shower. Just a note that the Fireplace was not a working fireplace. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. Free WIFI internet. And the Staff understands service--they are quick to respond and very helpful. Had breakfast in hotel restaurant. Good, American breakfast, reasonably priced. Location is perfect: Center of town, right at Copely Center, 1/2 block to Newberry Street shops and "T" (subway) station (Green line, Copley stop). Can take "T" a few stops to get on Red Line and be in Cambridge in 10-15 minutes (Harvard Square). Also CVS and other stores nearby (Lord & Taylor right next door). If this is in your price range, I'd strongly recommend it.

This is a wonderful hotel in every way. The location, the price, the amenities . . . and the SERVICE is top notch. EVERYONE from the facilities crew to housekeeping to the concierges to the manager is helpful and pleasant. I felt like a guest in their home. I will always stay here when in Boston. Great food in their Azure restaurant too.

As a travel journalist, I've been blessed to stay in some of the world's most wonderful properties--but never have I experienced the level of service that I had the absolute pleasure to experience during my recent stay at The Lenox Hotel.
I was in Boston, not on business, seeing my son off to the Navy, and wrote the concierge to ask for several things...a cutting board to use for the homemade bread I was bringing, ripe fruit for the soon-to-be sailor for replenishment after his workout in the hotel gym, and a disposable razor for him to take to Basic.
Not only were these requests fulfilled and cheerfully, but the entire staff went out of their way to thank him for his future service--bought him a Guinness in the Irish Pub downstairs (great Shepherd's Pie too), left him Gatorade and me chocolates (for being a "great mom" the handwritten note said), even made a point of introducing him to an 85-yr-old bellman who served in the British Navy during WWII. The valets, concierges (especially Jason and Tom), desk staff, bellmen even the maids and bartender were first-rate--helpful, polite, friendly and thoughtful.
From a gorgeous room with a sitting area for long chats, beds so comfortable he was even able to sleep the night before his induction (if I could have packed the comforter, I would have), hot showers with Aveda products (my favorite), great water pressure and fluffy towels, Bose dock for my ipod (to play a few Irish rebel songs to see him on his way), an all-important fitness center, a great location (just minutes to the induction center and perfect for shopping or site-seeing) and a lovely lobby and terrific Irish Pub just downstairs, The Lenox Hotel could not have made our stay anymore enjoyable and...
On the morning of the induction ceremony, when an emergency loss of paperwork almost kept my son from shipping out, the staff was right there--one and all--helping me to rectify the problem (even though it was 4:30 AM!) and off the young man went--in no small part thanks to the staff. If hotels could be rated 6 stars, The Lenox would deserve them all.

Very good value stay here with no extra charge for teenage son in a spacious double double' junior suite. As is clear from their website the rooms are traditional and 'flouncy swathes of curtain' in style but had very modern large flat screen tv and wi fi access included in the price. Location was great and we enjoyed a decent 'home cooking style' reasonably priced meal in their adjacent Solas Irish pub. Room service breakfast was also good and their huge portion of blueberry pancakes was very much enjoyed. Service was efficient and super friendly, If anything it was perhaps a bit too 'over the top' and artificially friendly for our British taste but that is hardly a major criticism ! Bathroom was a tad small given size of pour room but everything worked, thier were lots of fluffly towels and it was spotless. We were able to arrange late check out to accomodate our early evening flight back home and this effectively afforded us an extra day on holiday and so was very good news and well worth the cost. All in all a very good value option for Boston in a hotel which offered many genuinely higher range comforts for a highly reasonable price that undercuts the more securely five star places such as 'the four seasons hotel' by a considerable margin.

We stayed at the Lennox for 2 nights recently and were boled over by many things but the service was the highlight. The staff were freindly, professional and very helpful - one of the receptionists even offered me her own umbrella on a rainy day! The Lennox is right in the hear of Back Bay so within easy walking distance of all the main sites and is an excellent base for exploring beautiful Boston - we would stay there again.

I loved staying at The Lenox! The bedding, window treatments, and carpet were all very nice. All of the staff were wonderful, and it's right in the middle of everything. We could easily walk to the Boston Commons, the original Cheers, and much more. It's definitely more pricey than most hotels where I have stayed, but you definitely get what you pay for at The Lenox! We did not dine at any of the restaurants, but we did order breakfast from the room service menu, and everything was great. This might sound weird to some, but I even felt like I could walk around barefoot in this hotel (for most, I wear slippers or flip flops). I feel like that's saying a lot for a hotel!

Where do I begin? I decided to book The Lenox after reading the many reviews here on Trip Advisor. When I booked it was ranked number three and now its at number one! From the moment one enters the door, the delicious sent of something....still trying to figure it out filled the air. It was lovely! Everyone is so helpful and ready to anwer a question, give a suggestion, or just smile and say hi. These things are so important when one is traveling and in a new area where you dont know one street from another and all the faces are strangers. We were there two nights but we have many thanks to Sid, the bellhop the who gaves us recommendations of tours, Kevin who told us the best place for Seafood, and Keith who got our room ready for early check-in. We loved the turn down services with delicious chocolates, the bottled water, and the real live bamboo plant in the bathroom. (You always see them in hotels photos on their web page but the somehow disappear upon one's arival.) and the Aveda products! Everything about The Lenox was stellar. I hope now that they are number one they maintain there quality of service as well as value. When we arrived home from out long journey the one thing we raved about was The Lenox!!! P.S Location was convienent to everything!
