What is there to say about a TRULY great hotel, except that it is truly GREAT! That describes our recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Boston. From the exceptionally well appointed rooms, to the comfortable beds, linens, toiletries, to the exceptionally kind and friendly staff, our stay was spot-on perfect. In particular, we were impressed with the concierge staff -- we decided to rent a car in Boston and drive to New York City, which is sometimes a difficult thing to get a different drop point for a reasonable price. The concierge took our request and by the time we had returned from breakfast in the hotel restaurant (which was excellent by the way) she had all of the details worked out to our perfect satisfaction. We were greeted, usually by name, by the front desk staff whenever we entered the hotel -- a nice surprise and something that usually does not happen. We also asked for a "locals" restaurant choice for good seafood and the concierge got us a table at the tiny B and G Oyster House, which was perfect for what we wanted. So, we're high on the concierge staff. The location is also the ideal location -- close to shopping and also to everything else we wanted to do. I'd like to mention at least one thing that could have been a little better, but actually the Mandarin Oriental Boston was perfect in our view.... one of the finest hotels in which we've ever stayed. Clearly, the hotel is managed well and in our view is well worth the price.

Room Tip: For an exceptional dining experience, try La Espalier, which is located in the same building as the...

This was a good hotel. But when you stay at this hotel and pay these prices you would like everything to be perfect. We ask the concierge for a Lebanese restaurant and after a 30 min car ride we landed up at an Iranian restaurant. There were some vegetarians in our party so all we did was just drive back with hungry kids and tow. There was a Lebanese resturant just a block away form the hotel. Even transfer to the airport cost much more using this concierge compared to others.

Mandarin hotels are always nice. This one was no exception. After staying at the horrible Liberty Hotel in Boston previously, it was a breath of fresh air to come to the Mandarin. Everything was as one would expect--large, comfortable, well-appointed room, super courteous staff, great food. In short, it was a great stay. Highly recommend this hotel.

An extremely high-level of service and an excellent hotel is on offer at the Mandarin Oriental in Boston. I was very impressed by the attention to detail, the offer of a welcome drink, the turndown service, and more from this hotel. I would stay here again for business and pleasure in the future. Obviously, all of this does come at a price, but it is worth it and considerably cheaper than an equivalent hotel in New York.

I only stayed one night, but the hotel has definitely impressed me. The large room and giant king size bed was very comfortable, while the bathroom contained both a bath and separate shower, with plenty of space in there as well. The hotel is located near to some very nice restaurants and bars, plus the concierge / receptionists are very helpful when it comes to providing useful advice on these. The only slight negative for this hotel is that Wi-Fi is not free, but this doesn't matter too much when there's plenty to do in the city of Boston.

Excellent

I don't believe it gets any better then the Mandarin Oriental chain. I do wish they had a loyalty program so you could earn free nights at this luxurious establishment, but sadly they do not...

The Mandarin Oriental in Boston is perfectly situated in the heart of the historic downtown near Newbury Street shopping and convenient to the Prudential Center and Copley Place for even more shopping options!

The hotel itself is GORGEOUS and the staff here is incredibly nice. I arrived very early and called ahead to let them know I would like an early check in, they made note and when I arrived since the only room available for me at that time was an upgrade they upgraded me, so nice! Granted I was already booked in a Premier Suite so the upgrade really only involved an improved view (Corner Premier Suite) but still, they are just very accomodating.

The rooms are beautiful and the beds are incredibly comfortable. It is VERY expensive but sometimes you have to treat yourself!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston. This was the 2nd time we have stayed there. I find that the hotel and staff are exceptional and truly work to please their customers.

Due to back problems and I found that pillow top mattress was too soft. I was pleasantly surprised that housekeeping was able to switch the mattress for a firmer version and it was perfect. In all my years of travel for business and pleasure, this was the first time that a hotel offered to actually change the mattress to satisfy their customer.

The entire Boston hotel staff was gracious and friendly. I look forward to our next stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston

Had two separate stays in the Mandarin Oriental during July as a family with three teenagers. It is without question the best hotel in Boston. A great location in Boylston Street, close to Newbury Street, a stroll to Boston Common, close to two large malls and not far from Back Bay railway station. Excellent restaurants within walking distance as well. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. The staff work as a team and provide a level of professionalism and attention that few other hotels anywhere in the world offer. The concierge Corey was absolutely amazing, great advice and recommendations and an absolute pleasure to deal with. A world class hotel and a credit to the management.

Room Tip: High floors are best
