“Bargin location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2011

Convenient location 1 1/2 blocks from Back Bay Metro Station, well appointed room with good firm mattress, and the staff was helpful. Had to leave early each AM, so was provided Juice, bagels with cream cheese and jelly...nice touch. TV reception was very limited, so went to local bar to watch NFL. More fun.

Room Tip: Rooms are on 2,3 4th floors. Best to opt for lower floor so there are less steps to climb.

The house is located in a beautiful section of the South End. Just a wonderful location. Close to many restaurants, stores, the subway, and public parking. The room was just ok. We had a room with a private bath that was listed as a kitchenette. The room was spacious and somewhat clean, but maybe a bit worn down. It is mostly the little things that were a bit disappointing. For example, we did not have breakfast included in our rate, which is fine, I don't mind cooking. There was a 2 burner stove, sink, small fridge and microwave. The problem was that there was nothing to cook with. No pans, nothing. There was only one small waste basket in the bathroom. They really should have one in the kitchenette. There was no table to eat on. There is a small end table, which is short and in no way enough room for 2 people. So if we would have had take out, we would have to eat it on our laps. The crazy thing is that there is plenty of room for a table. They use clear tape as knobs for their cabinets. Between the bathroom and kitchenette there are only 6 or so cabinets and drawers, so it doesn't seem like it would be too much to invest in a few pull knobs. Other than that, the place was quite and the neighborhood is clean and safe.

Lovely, quiet, safe neighborhood. Close to Back Bay station and in walking distance to delightful restaurants and attractions. B&B clean but in need of refurbishing. Price was reasonable. Breakfast was minimal. Congenial host but never around during the day.

This B&B is located in an old red brick house, which retains much of the original character of the place. The charm of this and associated large room size (I stayed in room 5) made up for those elements that were a litte out of date - particularly the shower room (the shower wasn't very powerful and was sometimes cold). Note that the stairs are quite steep and narrow, so you'll need to bear this in mind when thinking about carrying your luggage up to your room. The location is excellent, being just over a block away from Back Bay station (for the orange 'T' subway line and trains to other parts of the States - I took the train to New York) and easy walking distance into the centre of the city for places like Copley Square and Boston public library (which has free internet access!!). The local area (South End) is really pretty and worth a wander around - there are nearby bars and restaurants and a fab little bakery on Appleton Street. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts on the top floor overlooking the rooftops were a highlight of the day for me, not only because the fresh fruit, cereal, drinks and bagels/croissants set me up for the day, but also (as a single traveller) they were an opportunity to share experiences and ideas with the other guests and the hosts. I was also allowed to leave my luggage at the property on my last day while I went for some final sightseeing, which made life a lot easier. So, overall I'd recommend this as a great place to stay, if you want a good location and don't want to break the bank!

Great location 1 1/2 blocks from the Back Bay orange line subway stop. Much of the core city is walking distance. There is a nice tapas bar (named Masa) 2 blocks away. The room we had was a good size for the location and price. The bathroom needed a little updating, but still quite functional. Friendly hosts. What the Verona B&B has going for it is location, location, location especially for the price.

Room Tip: Stayed in rm 3. Don't know about the others.

For this price in Boston, the Verona B&B is a palace. We had the room with kitchenette and were in and out all weekend visiting friends. No one bothered us the entire weekend and our room was very clean and modern looking. The bed was really comfortable too! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cheaper option compared to the Boston hotels. We probably saved about $200 in accomodations and parking costs.

Place was very nice, The location was perfect walked and biked everywhere. Few blocks from the street were there alot of hip restaurants and bars. Place was clean and quite.
Only complaint is the a/c old and loud, quiet loud. But really a great value and stay. I would stay again.
