Staying at the Fairmont Copley Plaza was a fabulous change from the usual business hotel. The renovated rooms are lovely - mine was very big on the corner, with a nice desk area, large flat screen TV and a fireplace with mantle. The bathroom was also nice and new, with a deep bathtub - a real plus!

The people who work at this hotel were also exceptionally nice and helpful and everyone at my company loved Catie the Canine Ambassador - who has her own business cards.

Two slight quibbles with the hotel - the first was the dinner we had in the Oak Room when we first arrived. Looking for a light supper, we ended up paying extortionate amounts of money for substandard fare - particularly the sandwiches. Secondly, when renovating the hotel they should have made a bigger fitness center rather than pushing you to the health clubs nearby with their hefty fees. There were three running machines and two ellipticals, in decent condition, but v. busy at peak times.

Apart from those minor things - the location, staff and rooms were all excellent.

I stayed here for 6 nights while attending a conference in Boston. This is an excellent hotel. It is a very typical Fairmont experience with excellent service, great food and confortable rooms. The rooms are well equipped including high speed internet and hdtv. It is very clean. There is a lot of history throughout the hotel, which was very interesting.

The location of the hotel is the biggest highlight for me. It is very well situated, just two blocks away from Newbury Street, where there is some of the best shopping in North America. It is walking distance to a lot of great bars, pubs and restaurnats. Above all, it is right next to two different T subway stops, so it's just a hop and a skip to get anywhere in the Boston area, including Cambridge, Freedom Trail, etc etc.

The only drawback is that the hotel is perhaps slightly overpriced. However, if you find a great deal, this is a fantastic place and it does earn a "highly recommended" from me.

If you are looking for a traditional, old Boston experience, Fairmont Copley is the place.

The lobby and public rooms are in the "grand-style" with marble columns and panelled walls. The rooms for meetings and events are truly beautifull.

The sleeping room was more than satisfactory: very good furnishings and window treatments, comfortable bed, and the newly remodeled bathroom was luxurious, with separate bath and shower areas, bidet, and excellent soaps/amenities.

Food was good -- and the atmosphere of the Oak Room is quiet and comfortable.

Service deserves special mention: the staff show attentioin to the comfort of guests -- and express a genuine hospitality. Much appreciated.

The Fairmont Copley Plaza is not inexpensive -- but it offers tradition, comfort, and hospitality throughout that go well beyond that of most hotels (including those in Boston!).

As with most English tourists we started our New England trip in Boston. As most of our accommodation was in small inns we decided on a large hotel to start.

We've stayed in numerous Fairmonts in the US & Canada and they have always been consistently good. There is no wow factor but equally everything is either just good or above average.

The Oak room restaurant was a bit pricey but very good, the room spacious enough and clean, the concierge good at recommending restaurants and giving directions (although didn't know where the Dollar car rental office was).

All in all the Fairmont is very well positioned if you want to walk round Boston, which we did.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! We were lucky enough to be upgraded to 'Gold', which they call a 'hotel within a hotel'. It was this which made our stay extra special, we got a free breakfast every morning of our stay, and all snacks in the kitchen free and cheaper drinks than in the bars. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The location is perfect for exploring the city, we walked EVERYWHERE! make sure you have comfy walking shoes! Felt very safe. Would definately go back to this hotel again as it was in such a perfect spot! Catie Copley the hotel dog can be taken out for a walk if you're missing your pooch!!!!
