Confusing billing system of charging at booking, charging more at check out and then giving some of that back 3 days later after check out. NO HOT TUB but charged a destination fee? Really??? Billing transparency is an issue. No destination fee or other taxes and fees added into the original amount at the time of booking. Running water from other rooms can wake you up. The place is modern, well-kept and very nice looking.

Stayed here for an anniversary weekend. The hotel is clean and kingsize bed room was perfect for our needs. The only "complaint about the room was the doors to the bathroom were sliders and it was just odd. The only other complaint was when we returned to our room about 1 it wasn't cleaned. We left and came back about 2 and it still wasnt' done. My wife called and talked to housekeeping who said it would get done before 11pm. As you can guess that wasn't an acceptable answer so after she got talking to the front desk telling him we were going out for a while that it was cleaned by 3. The bar on sunday doesn't have a bartender until 3 pm even though they were open for beer and wine. The free chowder is good. The pool was clean and the locker room has a sauna which was very nice after the swim.

We got an $89 Travelzoo deal which was great. They do charge a non-optional $25 destination fee, which is ridiculous. You get $10 discount at the restaurant plus free chowder. I don’t like chowder but did get the discount so that was something. Other “perks” are free WiFi and bottled water which should be free anyway. I checked the rate for a night we wanted to go in April and the best rate was $449. Seriously? This hotel is NOT worth that! And we had the same problem with the noise (room 709). They need to fix that!

So take advantage of the Travelzoo price but find a cheaper room if the rate isn’t available.

Our room (808) was filled with a loud humming sound any time someone somewhere(?) ran water. One time it drowned out the TV, it was so loud and continuous - over 5 min. We called the front desk and was told it was just water pipes vibrating. Unacceptable. However, the service and food at the restaurant was excellent.

Having left a shirt in the closet when we checked out, I contacted customer service 12 hours later to arrange payment for this to be sent to me and the hotel claimed this had "disappeared". Would have serious reservations about staying here.
