“What a Great Hotel stay”
Reviewed March 20, 2006

Figured Hyatt was going to be nice since its a reputable chain, but WOW! We flew in on the red-eye and they let us check in at 6am, which I've NEVER been able to do anywhere. The hotel was beautiful and modern, with great triphop/ambient music piped through out. The room was clean and decorated well The bathroom was huge, the bed was so comfortable. Our housekeeper put things back exactly where she'd found them.

By far the most helpful was the concierge who we kept making random requests of, but everytime he delivered! Highly reccomend.

Great hotel in a great city. All staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and professional. Reception changed our room because we didnt want an interconnecting room and they gave us some great recommendations for local bars (The Littlest Bar and The Hub were both great spots). Waiting staff at breakfast were great too. I can heartily recommend the King rooms. Nice size and a fantastic bed, spotlessly clean and nice decor.

Hotel is in a great location - nothing wrong with the neighbourhood. In the daytime theres a walkway directly to Macys. We were there for the blizzard so it was nice to be able to go shopping without having to brave the elements. Very near to the Park Street and Downtown Crossing Stations and only a 10-12 min walk to Faneuil Hall. About $20 each way by cab to/from airport

Enjoyable stay in a nice hotel on our first visit to a great city. When we go back we'll stay there again.

Got a fanastic rate for this hotel on ----. I had 4 rooms booked for business. The location is excellent, only $20 in a cab from the airport and right beside the main shopping area's and Boston common. The reception area and the rooms were super, clean and with good charachter, the staff were also very friendly.

The only let down was the mens changing rooms in the fitness club. The pool itself was only adequate but the showers are pretty awful (just 1 and one for disabled, the regular one was old and cold, the diabled one the same) and the sauna wasn't properly turned on (again it was cold), having come down at 7.30am this is more than annoying,

One tip, if on check out day you're reckoning on leaving your bags with the reception and concierge, leave plenty of time for collecting them as this increasingly seems to be a chaotic service in U.S. hotels.

If you can take a walk through the common to Charles Street on Beacon Hill, there's a breakfast place (est.1937) called the Paramount which is about the best I've ever been in.

If you get a good rate this hotel is really unbeatable but if you're paying the full rate you should defintely consider if you need to use the men's health club which is well below standard although the running machines are fine. There also seems to be an issue with wireless internet access which boringly has to be purchased through out the hotel.

Excellent hotel. everything is very good. We booked thru priceline and the price is very good for this kind of hotels.

The only thing that is not convenient is that the lobby is on 3rd floor and you must take elevator for 2 times to get to the room.

This was our 2nd stay at the Hyatt in the Financial District and I can't say enough about the location, cleanliness and friendly staff! The hotel, which has undergone recent renovations, is just steps from Chinatown, Downtown Crossing, the Theatre District and the Park Street T stop. You can't find a better deal for this location!

Our room was exceptionally clean with a marble bathroom and shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower (personally, I love that feature!) The bed was simply luxurious and the complimentary Boston Globe a treat. The 18th floor view was a plus and we found it very quiet.

We found an amazing deal on Expedia ($109 for a king bed) and couldn't have been happier with our room. I can't speak to the Hyatt's restaurant or bar, because there are so many other options nearby to try that we didn't stick around except to sleep.

A few food suggestions: JJ Foley's on Kingston Street is a great Irish pub with excellent food, and try the Malaysian cuisine at Penang on Washington Street in Chinatown - - fantastic and the price is right!

We'll be back at the Hyatt again soon!

Stayed here in the first week of Dec 05 for four nights. Must agree both with my colleague from Ireland and with the reviewer from LA on both counts of shopping and slight problems. More so than using the seperate lifts I thought the stairs on the entrance were a problem with heavy luggage caring them down them. However to be fair also to the hotel, I think in hindsight our cab driver should have pulled around to the side entrance within the car park which would have made things a bit easier. We did have a room on the 15th floor so that does afford great views of Boston. Didnt think there was anything particularly wrong with the neighbourhood more than the usual things you see late at night, though a bit more street lighting would make one feel more secure.

The hotel staff were very helpful as was our housekeeping. We didnt spend much time in our room as the Macys and Filenes were way too near for my girlfriend not to get tempted to visit, some days several times. The pool and fitness centre were great too and the hotel always seemed to be buzzing, in the evening at least, with people who had been attending conferences there. That did add to the atmosphere a little

All in all I would stay there again, it was value for the rate I felt, plus having stayed in the Boston Harbor for the preceeding four nights, I was a little worried that it would be a major let down. My fears were unfounded as although the hotel isnt a world beater it more than lives up to its billing. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Stayed here for 5 nights just before Thansgiving. The hotel is in a great location for those whose sole intent is shopping, shopping, shopping. Conviently located close to two T-stations, the hotel offers access to all areas of Boston city. The neighbourhood isn't great, but with its close proximity to major department stores and great restauants this is a small compromise. Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were lovely and clean. Request a room on the higher floors for a fantastic view of Boston!
