Great location, walking distance to just about everything. Hotel was perfectly located, clean and included breakfast. I would definitely stay at the Newbury again. Hotel is in a beautiful area of the city. Shops, restaurants, galleries along the street. Walking distance to Fenway, Freedom Trail, Boston Common.

I had business in the Back Bay. There are several very lovely hotels there: but they're two or three times the cost of this little funky Guest House. The room was more than adequate and the WiFi good. Breakfast is in the little cafe next door, and was better than most budget American hotels.

I love this place! Best place to stay in Boston. I miss the old wood look, though. We stayed there a few years ago and the natural wood in the lobby and in the rooms was absolutely gorgeous. We came back for a 2nd time and the wood had been painted over and I was so disheartened. The natural wood was keeping in the style of the brownstone and to paint over that stunning wood was a travesty. I do love the place in general--great location, very nice staff and completely charming. Should have left the wood alone, though. It added to the ambience!!!!!

This B&B has it all. Fantastic location in Boston, delicious breakfasts, comfortable beds, all the amenities (hair dryers, irons, mini-fridges, safes), solid nearly soundproof construction, and helpful, friendly staff. I will definitely be staying here next time I'm in Boston.

After a lot of research, decided on the Newbury Guest House as it appeared to be in a great spot, and it was. We spent 3 nights here and were able to walk to all the places we wanted to visit. It has some great restaurants surrounding it, and the tapas place across the street was exceptional. See the additional review.
Very clean, and our twin room on the 4th floor was exceptionally quiet. No view, other than the back alley, but that didnt bother us. Check in was easy, (very late at night), but the desk attendant wasn't exactly brimming with good cheer.
We have enjoyed the breakfasts and their simplicity suits our tastes.
Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Let's start with the obvious: Newbury Guest House is in an extremely convenient location. You can walk to Kenmore Square, Fenway Park, the Prudential Center (with all its wonderful shops), Copley Square, and even the Public Gardens. The T is close by.

People watching on Newbury Street is also a bonus.

The lodging itself is clean and modern. It should be enough for just about everybody. Even though our room was on the street, there was little noise.

Downside- the breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. How about some pastries, fresh fruit, or eggs done another way but scraambled?

All in all, however, I'd stay there again.

I've stayed here 3 times. It has been recently renovated. The location is ideal for shopping, dining, people watching and visiting Fenway Park. The entire facility is exceptionally clean and the staff very helpful. The breakfast area is very pleasant. The only negatives are that if you stay in summer and have a room facing Newbury Street, it can be very loud and the shower lacks sufficient self space for toiletries. Nevertheless, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Boston for the price!

Room Tip: If you are going in warm weather and people are out at night, it can be loud if your room is facing...
