“Good Place to Stay”
Reviewed April 22, 2006

Great place to stay, just a few minutes by car from Copley Square. Free shuttle to Copley Place, Aquarium and Boston Commons, but you need to reserve ahead of time. Newer hotel, well maintained. Good place for families. Would stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel as a result of a Priceline search....and were aware that it was difficult to access and was not a place to stay if you wanted to walk or use public transportation...like the T. All that was true.
However, the rooms are great...ours had a view of the Charles River and all the rowing crews...a nighclub featuring Jazz...and a good if somewhat overpriced restaurant.

As I read some of these reviews I wonder if the travelers understood that Boston was "walking town."Yes, the hotel is a little walk form the T station. It's not far nor a hard walk. We even walked at night with no worries. The staff was exceptional form the time I booked the suites to the time we left. Yes, the pool was cold but my DD swam in it. Not a big deal and not worth paying $$ more. The hotel is right on the Charles river. We watched the Harvard crew team practice in the am and the sun set in the PM. There are no rest. really close by. But the shuttle took us wherever we needed to go. Too late to walk back, I just picked up my cell and they sent someone to pick us up. That shuttle was really great to beat the morning rush hour. Now, we travel with 2 kids. They don't like to walk for long but we never had a problem. We will most deffinately recommend this hotel to friends. In Boston save your money for the food and entertainment and really enjoy your stay at the Double Tree Boston. We did !
