“Poor value for money disguised as trendy”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2010

On a business trip I stayed at this hotel. Admittedly I thought I was staying at one of the better known hotels in the area. Note that I am a business traveller coming to Boston from Europe and I am on the road over 200 days a year so my experience base is pretty rich. This is the worse value for money I have experiences. I paid $326 per night. Lobby was very trendy as would be expected from a recently renovated hotel.....but nobody was there to check me in (and by the way nobody was there to check me out the next day either). Room was okay (not execeptional which this price would justify) but I had to turn sideways to get into the bathroom shower!!! I would expect this in Europe but not the US. As an overseas traveller I woke at 4 am and wanted to order coffee but guess what room service only works from 6h30 to 23h00. Once I did get my small pot of coffee with a glass of low fat milk it was $20!!!! Are you kidding me!!! In short what happens when you try to be and think you are trendy but are just an overpriced badly managed hotel???????? hopefully you do not get guests.

My husband and 3 kids traveled to Boston for the first time and we stayed at the Copley Square Hotel. The staff was wonderful, very helpful, polite and very accomodating. The rooms were very spacious and clean, the beds were totally comfy. The hotel itself is in a great location, right near the Prudential Center and Newberry Street. Lots of shopping! There are some sight seeing hot spots within walking distance as well as the subway, which we ended up using because of the kids. Otherwise, we would have walked the freedom trail easily. If you want to go for a fun getaway with friends, romantic getaway with your spouse or go with the whole family, I would definetely recommend this hotel in all 3 cases.

We were stranded in the USA because of the Volcano and decided to book in Boston (as we had been in NYC). From checkin through to departure the service we received was OUTSTANDING -above and beyond what we have experienced elsewhere. The reception staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the lobby was very classy, maid staff were excellent too.

The hotel is boutique style and had recently undergone huge investement. Very nice comfortable rooms, complimentary bottled watter, complimentary coffee in the morning, complimentary wine pour between 5-6pm.

The hotel is right next to Boston Public Library where ypu can register for free web use. It is also next to the Prudential centre/shops and a supermarket (if you need to save a few pennies on food etc!).

This is a great hotel in a great location with great staff!!

We stayed at the Copley Square Hotel for 3 nights and had an excellent stay. Very friendly staff. Great locations. Very nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Just minutes to the main Boston attractions. Close to South End and Back Bay restaurants. We would definately stay there again if we go back to Boston.
Very quick check in and even quicker check out.

From the minute of our check-in at the Copley Square Hotel to the minute of our check-out, we were impressed with the stellar service of those in the hotel's employ. Although we have stayed in numerous hotels, we have yet to experience a more appropriately attentive, professionally polished staff. In their courtesy, efficiency, and helpfulness, they were flawless.

Although we were told that our room was the smallest in the hotel, we found the room so well designed that its smallness was not problematic. The room was a pleasant combination of old charm and modern elegance. The moldings and doors exhibited years of layered paint while the furnishings boasted a contemporary design. Laid at the foot of the bed was a tray with both practical and whimsical pamphlets. Behind one door was an ample closet with an iron and ironing board; behind another door was a beautiful and roomy bathroom with stylish fixtures and plenty of thick towels. Toiletries could be placed on a three-tiered glass shelf. A newspaper was placed outside the door each morning. Rather than the box-like uniformity of newer hotels, Copley Square Hotel exhibited a refreshing blend of varying angles and passageways. A carpeted stairway with wooden banisters stood between two glossy elevators; the hallways were attractively fashioned.

As a boutique hotel, the downstairs decor was wonderfully chic. The restaurant served breakfast and dinner. The bar hosted a nightly crowd of young adults. However, we chose the quieter and more intimate seating provided in the subdued tones and darkened hues of the lobby. The desk clerk not only retrieved a menu from the bar, but he also arranged to have our food served where we were seated on a comfortable couch. Complimentary wine was poured for an hour in the evening, and guests were readily offered refills. It was a perfect place to retreat and relax. In the mornings, coffee was available until 11:00.

The location of the hotel was ideal. Within easy walking distance was the Boston Public Library, the Back Bay train station, the subway, the grocery store, a large mall with many floors, as well as numerous shops and eateries.

To speak of the hotel, we have to use superlatives. We absolutely loved the Copley Square Hotel.

Right next to the Mall and the Boston Public Library. Very convenient to get to both locations. Lobby and public areas very modern and classy. Beds very comfortable. Restaurant and bar on property. Bottom of the line room was very small but still classy, very clean, and had a closet. Heating was loud when it came on, but almost no noise from other rooms could be heard. Disappointed that room service stopped at 11 pm but staff gave me two delivery fliers and was able to order from one of them until 3 am. Quite a bit less expensive than other hotels I checked in Copley Square.

My daughter and I stopped in Boston for one of many college visits of the week. We were happy with everything about the hotel. The hospitality of the staff was warm, welcoming and informative. We parked our car via valet ($42.00 per day) and never used it. The front desk personnel helped us map a way to the universities using the T (public transportation). That is when we found out what a great location this was for college visits.
They helped us with dinner reservations, places to buy an umbrella (next door at Shaw's super food market and directions to anything we asked. We found a great rate using Tripadvisor's search via Expedia. It is right near the Lenox Hotel, which has superior ratings too. We highly recommend this wonderful find!
