“A very pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

I chose the Copley Square Hotel for the location which was perfect. I cannot say enough about the staff. They were wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and responsive. I liked the mix of new and old in the decor. It was cozy, personal and romantic. The food, both restaurant and room service was good and reasonably priced which was very nice. It seemed much more personal for this area than expected. The valet parking was great and the staff there was excellent and always helpful.

Room Tip: Huntington Ave. views are probably better than the other sides. Corner rooms have a bit more space.

We stayed here for our last vacation before our baby comes this month. Beds are so comfortable! Service was excellent! We stayed in room 711 which was very spacious! Restaurant in the hotel was delicious and very reasonably priced. They also have a bar in the lobby which was very nice. This hotel os definitely recommended for its service and its location! So close to everything!

I've stayed here twice, on business, in the last 2 months and I loved it. Free WIFI is a definite boon and the rooms are a really nice size and more than adequately equipped. The staff are definitely the selling point. From arrival to departure and at every point inbetween they were all incredibly helpful and friendly. I first stayed there mid-February and returned md-March and the staff on reception greeted me by name on my second visit. There are some lovely touches too with the wine down hour in the evening and hot chocolate in the afternoon.

We booked through Hotwire. The staffed welcomed us immediately and made us feel welcome. They were very friendly and upgraded our room to a king instead of queen for 10.00. Our room was beautiful The room was not huge, but more than enough room. Beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, there was nothing we didn't like. We ate a late dinner downstairs at Xhale and it was great. Nice, quiet restaurant and we had a great waiter. I was worried this hotel would be pretentious, but did not find that to be the case at all. We forgot our toothbrushes and I called downstairs and within minutes they had them at our door. The elevator is slow, but the stairs are very accessible and they also had a second elevator running which was faster. Would stay here again and even pay full price! I just can't say enough about this hotel!

Room Tip: We were in 302, nice room. No view but we didn't care, it was quiet and at the end of a hall.

Made a mistake and booked myself at this hotel instead of the Westin.....I had a bad feeling when the guy at the Westin told me that he had no reservation under my name but at the hotel across the street.....

old building which was partially renovated.....lobby looks nice...and to their credit they do have complimentary wi fi in the hotel room...and a wine reception (never took advantage of it)...

What pissed me off..was the hotel room (624)....it is small but that's not big of a trouble....it smells like an ashtray....called the reception...and the guy had the nerve to tell me that oh what a surprise since the state of massachusets is smoke free?!? environment...not in that room dude...they gave me a room that was even worse...not smelly but super noisy...on the 2nd floor...so had to go back to 624....

Will never return ...paid about 900 usd and its not worth it.....

Great location and great staff. We really enjoyed our three night stay. It was well worth it to upgrade to a king deluxe. Very clean and comfortable room. With the cold march temperatures the afternoon hot chocolate was the perfect touch. We arrived early before normal check in and were able to go right to our room. Front desk staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. Although we were not able to partake in the wine reception each evening it looked to be well received by the other guests. Be aware if you are a light sleeper this is an old hotel and the walls are thin and you can hear everything in the hallway. It was fine though in the late evening as the hotel is pretty quiet and we had no trouble sleeping. Not a lot of storage space in the bathroom for the ladies to put their toiletries and get ready in the mornings. A larger shelving unit or wall mounted shelves would go a long way and be a minimal investment for the hotel to make guests happier in the bathroom area. If you like boutique hotels as opposed to the monster chain hotels this is a great choice. Really close to the the T at Copley square to get to anywhere in the city you need to go. We did not use the MINIBar so no comments there. We had breakfast at Xhale once and found the food to be good and fair priced. The late check out of 12PM was also a big help.

Room Tip: King Deluxe on the higher floors toward the back of the hotel
