Dates of Stay: Saturday, 3/30/19 - Wednesday, 4/3/19
Total Nights: 4

In a nutshell, the Marriott Long Wharf honestly is the BEST hotel in Boston and it should NOT be missed on your next trip to the region! If offers an absolutely perfect location, truly exceptional staff and recently renovated modern and spacious guest rooms. It offers AMAZING views of the Boston Harbor and the City, and truly is the best of Boston!!!

Now, for my detailed review:

First and foremost, I have to say that the Marriott Long Wharf has long been a favorite of mine; as a child, my family would often travel to Boston, and the Marriott Long Wharf was always our property of choice due to its excellent location. Having stayed here many, many times over the years, I have seen the property go through numerous changes and renovations, but none of those comes even close to the absolutely stunning complete renovations that have occurred in the last year! After a complete renovation of all guest rooms and public spaces, the Marriott Long Wharf maintains its long history of excellence and exudes truly modern charm that should not be missed!

Although I have stayed at this property on several occasions, I have only drafted one review, back in 2015, but I do not believe that review is viewable anymore, as it predated this most recent renovation. So, it is definitely time for me to provide you all with an updated review, detailed my recent AMAZING stay at this beautiful property!

The key feature that makes the Marriott Long Wharf the absolute best place to stay in Boston is its location; it is located at Boston's Historic Long Wharf, steps away from the truly spectacular New England Aquarium. It is directly across from Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market, which houses several great shops and dining venues. And, it is within minutes of Boston's North End, where you will find some of the best Italian around! Finally, should you wish to sight-see, the main stop for the Hop-on/Hop-off Trolley Tour Companies, the "Duck" Tours, and the Boston Harbor Cruises is just outside of the property's main entrance, so the many sightseeing wonders of Boston are within easy reach throughout your stay!

As for transportation, the property is just over 3-miles from Boston's Logan International Airport. Although no airport shuttle is provided, it will take you between 15-20 minutes to get to/from the property via a ride-share or taxi. Ride-share is the preferred method of transport, as Boston and its airport is very Uber/Lyft friendly and it will cost you around $15-20, depending on your tip amount whereas a tax will easily cost you in excess of $30. Additionally, you can also take the Subway -- known as the "T." The "T" is accessible from the airport via a free airport shuttle, and then it is a quick trip via the "T" to the Marriott Long Wharf for approximately $2.65 per person. Finally, as Boston is a traditional maritime city, you can opt for a method that is uniquely Boston, the water taxi, which runs around $12 per person. All-in-all, its perfect location allows for extremely easy connections to or from Boston's Logan International Airport.

As I mentioned above, you can easily access the Marriott Long Wharf from the airport via the "T" at the Aquarium Stop on the "Blue Line." That stop is just steps from the main entrance, allowing you not only easy access to Boston's Logan Airport but also to all that the city has to offer!

Now, although transportation options are relatively affordable, like most properties in Boston -- or other large cities -- parking is at a premium, thus should you drive, you will be stuck paying such a premium to park. On-site parking is Valet only, and it costs $58/day. There is Off-site Self Parking, but it is a slight walk and is not that much less expensive, so your best option should you travel via car is to opt for the on-site parking.

As for the property itself, although the Marriott Long Wharf has always been a beautiful hotel, it truly has taken on a new and modern beauty since the recent renovations. You enter from street level via the Lower Lobby, which is a large atrium featuring beautiful lighting and several conference rooms and ballrooms. The Lower Lobby also features an on-site Starbucks so that you can easily get your caffeine fix at any point during your stay. Then, just a quick escalator ride up you will find the Main Lobby where you will be able to check-in with little effort. The Front Desk Staff is exceptional, and the Front Desk was always well-staffed; we never had to wait for a Front Desk Agent, and check-in was a breeze with the dedicated Marriott Bonvoy Program's Elite Check-in Counter.

Upon our approach to the Front Desk, we were welcomed back and thanked for being loyal Titanium Tier Members of the Marriott Bonvoy Program. The Front Desk Agent explained to us several recent renovations to the property, including a beautiful new "M Club" Concierge Lounge as we had booked a Harbor View King with M Club Access. Within a matter of minutes, we were checked in and off to our room!

As for rooms, the Marriott Long Wharf offers several room types; the best of which is most certainly the Harbor View Rooms! I would encourage you to spend just a little more and book a Harbor View Room -- or, at the very least, a Wharf View Room -- as both offer truly spectacular views!

We had been assigned a Harbor View King on the property's top floor -- the 7th floor -- Room 714. Having stayed in such rooms on numerous occasions, we were in awe as we stepped into the newly renovated version of this room! As you enter, you have an open closet/shelves to the right and a beautiful marble bathroom to the left. The bathroom is separated from the main living space and entry by a sliding door, and it contains a toilet, oversized vanity -- including drawer space, something usually unheard of in a hotel -- and a beautiful walk-in glass shower. Unique to this property is its use of the Aromatherapy Associates brand bath products in lieu of the usual Than branded products found at most full-service Marriott properties. Such bath products are usually reserved for high-end JW Marriott properties and were a very great treat to have! Also, the shower offered AMAZING water pressure and it never took long to obtain hot water, so we were extremely impressed with the bathroom. Then, as you continue into the room you will find a signature Marriott King Bed, complete with ultra-plush linens and large pillows, flanked by two night stands complete with ample power ports -- both USB and power sockets. Across from the bed you will find a a long bench -- perfect for setting a suitcase -- under which are two decent sized drawers and over which you will find a new 55-inch high-definition LG Internet Television. This great television features Marriott's signature "Internet TV" service, including an interactive television guide and access to numerous streaming services, such as Netflix and Hulu. To the right of the television you will find a large coat rack, perfect for holding winter coats or rain gear, and it also comes equipped with an umbrella for use during your stay. And, should you need additional umbrellas, you can borrow extra ones from the Front Desk. To the left of the television you will find a decent size work/computer desk equipped with ample power outlets. Finally, you will find a comfortable chair and ottoman, along with a small table. But, the best feature by far are the large windows offering truly spectacular views of the Boston Harbor! All-in-all, one of the finest rooms you will find in Boston, offering exceptional amenities and superb views!

As for Connectivity on property, this property offers complimentary WiFi to members of the Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program, as well as complimentary Premium Wifi to Platinum and Titanium Members of the Program. You will find the WiFi to be quite adequate at even the base level, but truly superb at the Premium Level. We never had any issues connecting for work or even streaming media. So, unlike many properties in the area, the Marriott Long Wharf offers truly high-speed WiFi and you should never have any issues with connectivity.

As for Dining, the property offers one main restaurant and bar, called "Waterline." You will find service and dining options to be quite good! For breakfast, you have the option of a menu or a truly amazing buffet. For lunch and dinner, "Waterline" offers an excellent assortment of options, and the bar offers wonderful beverage options to include craft beers, cocktails and a great wine list! Additionally, as previously mentioned, the property offers an on-site Starbucks. So, you shouldn't ever grow hungry at the Marriott Long Wharf, but make sure to explore off-site as within walking distance are some of the finest dining options that Boston has to offer!

Finally, if you want to spoil yourself, this property has a truly exceptional new "M Club" Concierge Lounge. It offers beautiful views of Boston Harbor from two floors, and it allows you access to the full buffet breakfast each morning. Throughout the day, it allows you access to snacks -- such as nuts, trail mix, gummy bears and cookies -- along with filtered water, sodas and coffee. Then, each evening you will find an excellent selection of hot appetizers and desserts. It is truly one of the best concierge lounges that I have experienced and is truly worth it!

All-in-all, the Marriott Long Wharf truly is the best place to stay in Boston! Offering beautifully modern and recently renovated rooms, along with stellar service and a perfect location, the Marriott Long Wharf is a property that should not be missed!!

We stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf for 5 days and it was perfect! It is conveniently located on the blue line (aquarium stop), so we were able to access it quickly once we landed at Logan airport. The hotel is located on the wharf, just steps away from the Freedom Trail, Little Italy and is within walking distance to Boston Commons and countless other bars and restaurants. The room was well appointed and our view of the harbor was spectacular. We enjoyed morning stops at the Starbucks in the lobby on our way out to play tourist for the day. When we arrived back to the hotel in the evening, we loved popping into the bar for a night cap. Shannon, the bartender was excellent and should be commended for her customer service. We can't wait to return to Boston and to stay at the Long Wharf!

Room tip: Join the rewards program for free wifi. Harbor view room was beautiful.

Did a gf weekend in Boston and love the spaciousness of the rooms, the location of the hotel, and the attentiveness of each staff member. And every time I've been here, it's been great! Close to the Italian section and of course all the waterfront activities. Many eating choices locally. Also it's just a quick UBER to Fenway

Room tip: Ask for a corner room if you need extra space for an extra bed

Its been several years since I stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf. The property has just finished a massive and very impressive renovation program. You can’t find a better location to enjoy the many attractions of the city. Very comfortable rooms with views of the harbor. Across the street from Quincy Market, Aquarium, whale watching yours and within a couple of blocks of the North End. A staff that was very cordial and engaging helped make our stay truly flawless. A bonus for a city hotel was that its extremely quiet. E truly loved our weekend at the Marriott Long Wharf.
