We stay in Boston every Thanksgiving with our children. This is really the perfect location, overlooking Boston Harbor, next door to the Aquarium and Imax - most of the must-see historical sights, including Faneuil Hall, are easy walking distance - so is the theatre district (Blue Man Group is lots of fun for all ages), and the North End italian restaurants in that neighborhood are perfect family fare.

The hotel itself is huge and rather impersonal in feel, but the rooms are nicely renovated. Best of all, the handicap accessible rooms are enormous and can easily fit a family of three, or three children (they have two double beds and a pull out couch) -- you need to book these directly with the individual property after reserving.

The pool is far too small for such a large hotel, but otherwise appealing. There was an annoying bottleneck at breakfast when we were there and we ended up leaving and having a Starbuck's downstairs.

Especially at a decent price, this is a pleasant place to stay and I think it is easily the most fun/ convenient location in Boston for families taking in the sights.

We stayed at the Boston Marriot Long Wharf for one night celebrating our anniversary. The hotel is in a great location for tourists. It is right next to the New England Aquarium, the Duck Tours, across the street from Quincy Market and within walking distance to the North End and other places. The hotel was nice and we got a great price through Priceline.com. Our room was nice, clean and the beds were comfortable. We got two double beds even though we booked a king sized bed but the hotel explained that was a problem with Priceline and due to the busy weekend we couldn't be moved. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to spend a weekend in Boston and likes local attractions.

Very nice hotel and room BUT ... the parking is a complete scam. We pulled up late at night and asked where we could park ... an employee asked if we were staying at the hotel ... when we said yes he cheerfully said "right here then, i'll take your car."

Later we found out that this was going to cost us $42 per night. Absurd. Also they have rates for non-guests that are hourly and are a MAXIMUM of $42 for a full day/night. So you're not even getting "a deal" by staying at the hotel. Insulting.

FYI my wife and I live in New York City and are used to ridiculously high prices ... we live next to Lincoln Center and even here parking overnight costs less than $30. The $42 charged by this hotel was ridiculous and really took advantage of their semi-remote location within Boston. (FYI it turned out there was a much cheaper garage option about a block away; I recommend you find that if you have to stay here. Would have been nice to be told about that when I asked them where I could park, instead of being misled and taken advantage of.)

We checked in late on the night. We had booked a deluxe room, but on check in we were upgraded to a concierge level room on the 7th (top) floor. The room was lovely. The views of the water and aquarium were great and there were no noise issues. I was impressed with the continental breakfast the following morning. There was a wide selection of pastries, fruit, breads, cheeses and meats, and the concierge lounge has a wonderful view over Boston Harbour. In terms of location, this hotel is fantastic. We were staying so that we could visit the aquarium and do the whale watching tour, so the location could not be beat. It is only a short walk to many restaurants and other attractions as well.
The only slight disappointment was the fact that I had requested a room on the other side of the hotel with views of the park and harbour, but was given a room on the opposite side - but I guess that is down to time of arrival and availability.

We have stayed at about 7 different hotels in the Boston area. We needed to Priceline this past weekend 8/27 due to the outrageous rates for Boston due to New Kids in town, Bruins, Sox vs. Yankees, Parents weekend...etc. Well a week prior, we bid on Priceline and received the Long Wharf for $155.00 + tax. Not bad compared to the regular price of $400.00 + tax a night they wanted.
We wanted to do something different instead of taking the T in (from Riverside like we usually do) so we took the ferry from Quincy, Ma which drops you right off at the Marriott's front door. We got there about 10 a.m. and was given a room right away. We received room 628. I was a little weary due to it being right off the elevator, and if you can't bare the sound of elevators, do not request this room... anyways, we LOVED it. It was one of the bigger rooms on the floor with 2 windows, a pull out couch in a huge size sitting area, 2 leather chairs near the window, a flat screen TV, desk, 2 bedside dressers, bar area with sink, refrigerator, safe, marble counter, bathroom was a good size (not huge) but bearable by any means. The shower head was HUGE! The windows overlooked the ledge- which would be so cool if you could go out, the park next door and the water. (The room faces the North End.)The King bed was plush and wonderful. For the business person, I would be a tad upset about the internet not being included in the price of the hotel, but the desk space was awesome. Oh and you had 2 thermostats- we turned them up when we came back from sitting at the football game in the pouring rain.
The location is key!!! You have the aquarium T and aquarium at your door, Quincy Market at your door, the Garden is a 8 minute walk, the North End at your door, Legal Seafood restaurant - our fav., overall restaurants and bars galore!!! We took a walk to the Fours near the Garden and then made our way back- hitting Quincy Market area and then taking out from Legal Seafood.
The gym is very well kept with up to date machines. I ran the next morning on the treadmill that hosted a TV. We both used the pool/jacuzzi which was great also!!! They have a little patio/ desk you can sun bath/ sit, but with the rainy weather, we opted not to try it out.
We travel to Boston often and are extremely happy that we ended up here. The service was great as well as having Starbucks right downstairs. If you are coming to Boston for your first time this location is hard to beat. We originally preferred the Back Bay/ Theater Dist. but that certainly changed after this weekend.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Have a great trip to Boston!
