“Marriott Long Wharf Stay Dec. 15-17”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

We have visited Boston for over ten years now and each year we stay at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf. We can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. Over the years there has been some changes in management, but let's just say the man at the helm for several years now really knows how to manage this hotel. You won't get anything but a smile and a greeting from all the staff in this hotel...from the front doorman, bellhop, reception, concierge, waiters...you name it! It makes us feel so at home. The rooms are kept immaculate and are very comfortable. The amenities in the bathroom are top shelf and it is a pleasure to have such detail paid to small things like that.
As many have said, the location of this hotel is perfect. "T" right outside the door, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market right around the corner and the North End!
Stay here and you will see you will be greeted each time you enter, and each time you leave the hotel. Cheerful, chatty conversation and big smiles all around. Some hotels have a stuffy quality with a staff to match. Not so at the Long Wharf. Years ago they did a big remodel job....it is a bit more modern now, but that comfortable feeling is still there.
We don't travel on business to Boston, it's purely a pleasure trip...usually in November (or this year December) for my husband's birthday. There's usually a "treat" in our room for my husband or being upgraded to a suite..."just because." Because that's the kind of hotel this is.
Sure, you can find plenty of good hotels in Boston....but this one hits ALL the marks!

Room Tip: We enjoy the aquarium side, as you can look out the windows and see the harbor and all the boats. B...

I've been to Boston a number of times but my stay at the Long Wharf was certainly the most rewarding. Walking distance to the fabulous Italian restaurants - asked the door man for a recommendation and he didn't steer us wrong. The market place is basicaly across the street. Subway ride from the airport with the station right at the corner of the hotel! I had business meetings in the hotel and the catering staff were unbelievable - polite & respectul, friendly, efficient but not pushy; not often that staff address you by name! The same applies to the concierge and front desk staff. It was nice to ride up the escalator from street level to the main lobby and have staff greet you as you step off. All of the staff were sincere in their contact with customers; a genuine one-on-one care that was not rushed and made every single person feel welcome and valued; never the phony or forced friendliness that some hotels present as they crank people through as a statistic rather than a person. Thanks for making my four days in Boston great.

The location of this hotel is ideal. It is on the water next to the aquarium and across the street from Quincy Market. It is also a few blocks from the Little Italy. The hotel is also right next to the T's . Its location is convenience for travel all over Boston for attractions and the location on the harbor makes it ideal for a visit to Boson.

The last time we were hear 2 years ago they were admist construction but the old histrorian look works well with the new modern decor.

Our room was beautiful, bright and the harbor view was great. Very clean, the beds were very comfortable and they supplied with many extras, including pillows and a welcome basket.

The staff was great, courteous and always asking if there was something they could better. We used the valet service to park our car they were excellent as well.

The selection at the breakfast buffet was quite larger than I anticipated and the food was delicious.

The only thing negetive I could say is that the noise level and the entry into the hotel was a bit loud but certainly not a huge distraction. All the doors to the rooms face the atrium so noise travels. But once in our room there was no additional noise.
We would stay here again no questions asked .

Thank you for your review and thank you for returning to our hotel. We did undergo an extensive renovation of all of our public areas, restaurant and fitness center 2 years ago. It is always refreshing to hear such positive comments about the new facility! Thank you once again and we hope to see you again in the future.

We just spent three days here. We stay at lots of Marriotts and this is among the best, in terms of value, location, character, family friendliness, and management. Beautiful lobby areas (lots of them), very good food, nice touches such as free fresh fruit in the fitness center. Staff were well-informed and happy to engage my talkative seven year old about what she wanted to see. Fabulous view from our third-floor room. I'd give this place a "6" if I could!

Stayed here for two weeks on business. Beautiful property! I chose to stay city side to get a viee of the lights in the park and across the street in the Quincy Market area. The workout area is top notch and comparable to an actual gym. Loved the fruit in the gym and available at the front desk in the morning free. Room was average size with what looked like brand new bedding. Bathroom was clean and no issues. TV selection was good. Did not try room service or the hotel bar. Did need help while there and staff was great, quick, attentive. Starbucks in the bottom lobby was heaven for me. They keep a car/driver for airport trips there so I was able to easily get there for the price of a cab. Will stay here next time I am in town.

I had to spend a week in Boston and I am so happy this hotel was recommended. The room was large and the view from my window was breath-taking.

I don't usually eat at the hotel, but decided to the first night because it was convenient. Well, it was a great choice. The oysters on the half shell were delicious and the Pinot Grigio (Italy offering) was tasty for a mid-priced glass of wine.

Overall, it was an excellent experience and I would recommend this hotel and the restaurant to anyone traveling to downtown Boston. Also, if you have business in the financial district, this hotel is easily in walking distance.

Room Tip: Ask for a good view!

This Hotel was excellent! It is centrally located to everything you could hope to see in downtown Boston. Looked at several hotels in the area, and kept commenting on how nice ours was compared to others. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure it was comfortable. The concierge was top notch. The only thing that would make this hotel better is to offer free wifi to guests in rooms just not in the lobby. I will definitely stay here again.
