“Just a Standard Marriott, Nothing Special”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

I have stayed at this property multiple times and this is a standard Marriott property, the location is excellent but the room is nothing more than a bed & bathroom. If you wan to relax and watch TV you can sit at the desk or on the single chair. They advertise that the regular rooms are 300+ square feet, but they are about half that size. They also do not honor any of the requests you put in your Marriott profile. While I understand the high floor request can't always be honored because of room availability, I'm not sure why they can't honor the extra towel request. Can't be tough for Management to train the front desk to say, "I see you have extra towels requests, I will ask housekeeping to bring some up to you shortly." They also do not replenish the toiletries on a multi night stay. They only give you one bar of soap that you have to share between the sink and shower. The elevators are slow, but they are working on them. If you use the touch screen display for the elevators they actually come faster vs. the old fashion button. On the plus side it is a 5 minute indoor walk from the Back Bay Amtrak station and attached to where I travel for business via an overhead walkway. I wouldn't stay here with my family or as a tourist though. I'll be trying out some alternate Marriott properties on my next Boston visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for a good view, but they probably won't honor

Traveled from Australia to have Christmas in Boston... and could not have picked a better hotel !! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone and great for families. I booked this hotel direct and emailed the Guest Relations Manager in respect to our special Christmas family gathering (3 separate families all traveled from Australia) and that I wanted interconnecting rooms with my children. She assured me this was possible and assisted with the menu from her Hotel and suggested other restaurants close by suitable for our Christmas dinner that would be open. I need not have worried because all of this was organised. Our rooms were outstanding and interconnecting. The bathroom configuration was different (vanity and mirror separate to toilet and shower) but not a great issue. After settling in a knock at the door gave way to a extremely generous gift from the Manager of Christmas shortbread biscuits, chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of Champagne AND numerous free water, juices and soft drinks !! We were extremely touched by this gesture and pretty much summed up the entire Hotel staffs service and assistance. Exemplary ! I could not rave about this hotel enough.. everyone made our stay memorable.. from the bar staff in the best sports bar out, to the breakfast staff and door men. Rooms very clean and room service no fault. Location was perfect as well. Stay and you won't be disappointed !

Room Tip: When booking, email the hotel with specific details you require for your stay - don't be shy, as...

Arrived late and check in was easy with a nice welcome. The lobby lay-out was a bit odd but found my elevator. Room was larger than expected in a strange corner of the floor. Room 1025. The decor I thought was a bit outdated for a Marriott but it was clean and nice. The TV was new but in an older cabinet making it almost too low to view from the bed. Wall of windows in the room was nice but view was nothing special. Location could not have been better. Connected to mall and many restaurants and other hotels via skywalk so I never had to go outside. That was great in cold weather! Starbucks was right there too making breakfast easy and fast. I didn't park but the hotel is a 4 minute walk from the Back Bay Train Station and there is a rental car desk connected to the hotel via skywalk. I would stay again!

Firstly the location of this hotel is fantastic as it has access to the Prudential shopping mall, easy walk to the T and is right in the heart of Back Bay which makes it easy to access Boston's many charms. The room was spacious and clean and the service was very good. I really enjoyed my stay and will return on my next visit to Beantown.

the hotel is good
bed and room very clean and comfortable
the service is friendly and fast
the place of the hotel is good , in the center of boston , very near to good restaurants and a shopping mall
the only problem is that we drink to bottles of water in the room and they charge 50 dollars for it
also the parking is very expencive , 37 dollars a day for self parking and 47 with vallet

Everytime I come to this city I stay here. It's a great hotel. Great location and fantastic staff. Rooms great and always comfortable. Starbucks on second floor

My only issue is queues at peak times on the reception desk. This hotel is busy at times and there are queues at times but that's ok.

World recommend for sure

We recently stayed here for 7 nights over the new year celebration and a massive snowstorm. The hotel itself was lovely - everything possible for shopping and eating right there. The rooms were very nice.
Our first room was close to the elevator bank and as a light sleeper I had a hard time sleeping. They quickly changed us without any argument and it was handled at our convenience. I really like that in a hotel.
Each staff member from valet to registration to room service was kind, pleasant, and made us feel welcome.
This will definitely be my go-to place in Boston.

Room Tip: Light sleepers, make sure you are not near the elevators.
