I agree with most of what's been said here, this is not as nice as many of the big-city Marriotts we've stayed in. Ugly lobby, one lone check-in person moving at a snail's pace (it was 9:30 pm), no one to greet us or help with bags, dirty elevator, scratched front doors, etc., etc. It does not feel like a luxury hotel, by any means. We have also stayed at the Westin at the other end of the Copley Place Mall, and it's much nicer (and usually more expensive). But for the right price, it certainly fits the bill if you're not looking for a particularly special experience.

Pros: extremely convenient location, central to businesses, adjacent to the Copley Place mall, which has the usual assortment of high-end stores. Good grocery store, Shaw's, directly across the street for odds and ends, and a decent wine selection. Our room, 2923 @ $249/night, was on a corner on the concierge floor (free food) and had large panoramic windows with a great city view - we watched a thunderstorm. Large room, plenty of storage. Helpful concierge, car rental right in the lobby. I also appreciated a 3 pm checkout, and the hotel was completely full; prompt bell service, brought fridge to room quickly for no charge. Mostly responsive staff.

Cons: basic motel-like bathroom, shower/tub combo not very elegant, tired decor, extra charge for internet. My biggest complaint is the deferred maintenance and outdated look of the place.

I was hoping that I would be able to enjoy my time at the Marriott however, after we attended our Women of Faith conference at the Garden we were looking forward to getting some rest after our long day and knowing that we had a long day on Saturday. When we came back to the hotel my sister got into her bed only to find a WOMEN'S THONG in her bed. We were both disgusted and then I climbed into my bed approaching cautiously after her discovery only to find what looked to be HAIR in my bed. At 1 AM we just need to get to sleep because we needed to get to our conference early in the morning. It was the most disgusting feeling knowing that the basic clean sheets are not being changed at an upscale hotel. I went down to the desk the next day and informed them of the problems and they assured me that they would have someone change the sheets. No one gave us any discount on this room

When we went back to our room where we found dirty laundry remaining.

I am appauled because we paid a lot of money for the "comfort" of a smoke free hotel and a feather free room. Only to find these things in our sheets. We were not comfortable at all.

I will not stay at this hotel again. I will give my business to a hotel that cares.

We just returned from Boston, a first-time visit for teen-aged son. We stay 3 nights at The Marriott Copley Place, and overall had a decent experience. The staff was inconsistent; one Concierge was very knowledgeable, and another was borderline rude and gave inaccurate directions.

One bedroom was nice, but small. No refrigerator, mini-bar, etc. Room was clean, but had to ask for towels late one night, as they had not been replaced when room was cleaned.

Valet parking was incredibly expensive (even for Boston), and as we were checking out, valet did not even offer to put our bags in the car. Twice, valet gave inaccurate instructions as to how to get on to a major highway.

With all the available hotels in Boston, not sure if we would stay there again, even though it was in a good location at not-exorbitant rates. We could get similar rates at other hotels, and would likely do so on the next trip.

On a recent visit to Boston, I stayed at the Marriott Copley. The view from the 35th floor was awesome. It is very well located in the middle of the shopping area and close to several metro stops. Even though this is a commercial hotel, it is very well maintained and a very comfortable place to stay. Everyone was very helpful. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

We were in Boston for just 2 nights, capping off a wonderful trip to Maine. Hotel is clean and looks nice, but the beds were terribly uncomfortable (much too soft), and the rooms are quite small. They assured us we could put in a cot for our 3rd child, but it was a feat to rearrange the furniture and make it fit.
Location is terrific, not far from many restaurants and the T. Recommend Joe's restaurant for American. Nice environment, great menu and surprising speed with good food.
Concierge was very helpful, if not enthusiastic.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful 3-night getaway in Boston, from July 17 to July 20. We loved the City of Boston itself, but our stay was enriched by our great experience at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. Central location in the Back Bay area of Boston, easily accessible via subway, cab, walking, lots of shopping & restaurants & Boston sites nearby. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view from the 24th floor where we stayed was breathtaking. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30am and checked in immediately. Staff friendly and accomodating. We booked our reservation at the Boston Marriott Copley Place through our CAA membership and received a fair discount. Boston is fairly expensive and the CAA hotel booking helped us to save approx $250 overall. We look forward to returning to Boston in the future and we would definitely book the same hotel again!

My family of five stayed at the Marriott Copley Place on July 4, 2008. We had made reservations months in advance and had been promised a room with a view of the Charles River and 4th of July fireworks. When we arrived mid-afternoon our room was not ready, and reception staff were not friendly. We did not get into our room until aroundt 5pm, and with two small children and one pre-teen this did not make for a good start to our vacation. The room was nice, and very clean, but did not have a view of the fireworks, which we had been promised. The hotel was full so no changes or compensation were available. This was very disappointing. Im not sure I would stay at this hotel again, and I am a loyal Marriott rewards member.
