I stayed at this hotel twice in August 2013 for business (2 separate weeks).
What I liked about it:
- Location is fantastic. You are adjacent to a mall, so shopping is easy. You can walk to Copley Square or the Boston Common (nice park) and if like me you like running, the Charles River is very close.
- Views are great if you get higher rooms facing the river. Some buildings around are taller though.
- The second time I had a corner room with views on 2 sides. Love it
- Lounge upstairs offers nice breakfast (would not use it for dinner) but come early. It is small
- Sports Bar is nice, many TVs and the food is good. Bfast buffet was too expensive.

What I did not like:
- Elevators were so slow you had to wait 10-15mns sometimes. They had signs apologizing for it.
- Hotel is older and it shows when you use their conference rooms (low ceilings, faded colors)
- The Westin next door seems much nicer if you can get a good rate.

Room Tip: Ask for the 2 floors connected to the concierge lounge (mezzanine lay out with stairs)

This hotel is sited in a prime location. It is close to the Boston Common, the Boston Public Garden, Newbury Street and even Beacon Hill. It is also located very close to public transportation, excellent restaurants and superlative shopping. The Prudential shopping complex is right across the street. There is even a skywalk that connects to it such that inclement weather is not a problem. Of course, one must pay for such premium real estate. The rooms are very expensive but are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Save your Marriott reward points for this one.

Room Tip: Higher floors have much less traffic noise and better views

It is very comfortable and friendly. Highly recommended! it's a great location if you're a vampire or otherwise don't want direct sunlight, you can walk blocks in most any direction and never go outside. it's a fairly typical convention property, so expect crowds and starbucks located in the bathrooms of other starbucks

A beautiful hotel, buzzing with activity right in the center of downtown Boston. The shopping centers and main shopping streets, Boylston and Newberry are within walking distance. Did the Duck Tour , which is right across the street from the hotel. Was able to walk to North End for dinner with reasonable ease.
The room was large enough for a party of three and the beds were comfortable. Checking in and out was a breeze. The view from the higher floors is amazing! An overall wonderful experience.

Having got over the expense, $660 per night, inc breakfast you realise that you are paying the price of a city centre location as opposed to luxury. This may also to be to do with a conference taking place in town and the hotel taking advantage of the limited availability of rooms. Clean, with reasonable rooms it is in line with what you expect from Marriott.
If you are in a hurry then the elevators are an issue to the floors above 27 as they are slow and appear to stop at every floor on the way down.
Breakfast is basic but the staff pleasant.
Reception is functional and the welcome similar.

I stayed at this hotel with my family last week. We had the most amazing time there. The Hotel is downtown so walking distance to most attractions and beautiful tree lined shopping streets such as Newbury Street.
On the second floor of the Marriot there is a Starbucks alongside a Champions bar, these areas are always busy and it gives for a great bustling atmosphere at all times. The Champions bar has sport on a selection of screens playing all day, it's a great place to chill and eat great American fare!
A glass walkway leads from the hotel straight into a large Shopping Mall, you don't even need a coat.
There was something for everyone in our family and the hotel itself is fabulous and the rooms extremely comfortable and clean, the staff are very efficient at reception and also concierge very helpful.
We asked for a recommendation for breakfast outside of the hotel and they sent us to a great place called Thorntons, left out of the hotel, down a block and on the left hand side. It was wonderful, although very busy at weekends with people waiting outside for a table!
A great holiday and we would definitely make sure we stay at Marriot next time. We will be visiting Boston again, we have been to many US states but this is a firm favourite. We hired a car one day and drove into New England which is a must during 'Fall ' stunning!

The hotel was wonderful. Connected to two different malls made it nice to walk to shop and come back to the room. The gym was great too. However the elevators were a little slow so we needed an extra 5-10 minutes to add when we needed to be somewhere. Rooms were spacious and clean. Would stay here again. Friendly staff.
