“Neat place”

We stopped by here on the way to Paul Revere's house. It's a nice burying ground with some very old headstones. It's free and you simply walk around.

“Lovely graveyard”
Reviewed June 15, 2014 via mobile

Second graveyard on the freedom trail and I think the best as it's normal people rather than big wigs. I love the inscriptions especially one from a husband to his "amiable" wife. Not that loved? Well worth a stop especially for black history.

“Cool ”

I liked the old cemeteries along the freedom trail. I am not sure why. But I found it very cool to try and read all the dates and look at the engravings on the head stones.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

We could only see this through a locked gate, but it looked very good from what we were able to see. Their website says open daily at 9 am but we waited 20 minutes in the rain and no one ever came to unlock the gate on a Sunday morning. I believe from reading Longfellow's poem about Paul Revere that this is the burial ground mentioned in it. There are pretty views of the river and it's less than a block downhill to the Old North Church. We just wish it had been open.

“Small but interesting”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Another of Boston's 'old' cemeteries on the Freedom Trail, it is situated on top of the hill. There are many interesting stories to be learnt from reading the tombstones and the artwork on some is unbelievable - great for photographers. Not as large as Granary but what it lacks in size - it makes up for in peace and quiet as when we were there most of the tourists flocked to Granary to see the more prominent Boston citizens. Definitely worth a visit - search out the tombstones with the musket ball damage.
