“Interesting history. Great walking tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012 via mobile

This site is not operated by the National Park Service, but there are rangers leading tours of the meeting house/school and walking tours of the neighborhood. There's an entrance fee (Federal Lands passes not accepted). Interesting film on third floor, nice changing photographic exhibit on second floor, and the restored meeting house is gorgeous. Do the walking tour and have your children do the junior ranger program. There's so much we never learned in school.

“Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

This was a wonderful find - go the the museum at 46 Joy St. on Beacon Hill. The park rangers who staff the museum are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. The exhibit in the museum is small but the video story upstairs which runs every 30 min or so gives you a thorough overview of the history of the Freedom movement in Boston and many important events that occurred in this very neighborhood. There is a walking tour also, but we did not have time to join it.
