“Best Deal in town”
Reviewed June 7, 2011

For around 70.00 you can treat a family of 4 to a delicious dinner and leave full. We are frequent diners at this restaurant eating at least once but usually twice a month. For the price above you get your meat and vegetables, drinks and complimentary dessert. You can't beat that.,

“Good food, attentive staff, college scene”
Reviewed February 20, 2010

This was my first time to this place or a place like it. They say they have parking but it's very limited, if you find parking on the street just go for it because you are unlikely to find parking on their lot. Each pot has two compartments so you can choose 2 different types of broths. We had the regular/standard one for the kids and the kim chi broth for the adults. The kids (5 and 2) loved the regular broth and the beef cuts. The beef only needs to be in the boiling broth for about 30 sec. before they are ready. They melt in your mouth! At the end you have an excellent soup. The place is nice and food is good but I felt it was a bit overpriced. The atmosphere was very college (even high school) centered, we felt a bit out of place as a family. But overall it was good.

“Different and located in a large venue with parking!”
Reviewed September 8, 2009

Very different. Sort of "make your own soup on your table" kind of thing. It was ok. I don't think I would try it again. I have had better Asian food at other Boston-area Asian restaurants.

“This was a great place”
Reviewed August 4, 2009

My daughter brought us there to buy her a brithday dinner. Having eaten more Japanese food than most Japanese I was hesitant about the quality but was surprised how good it was. The meats were reshly sliced, the veddies very fresh and wide selection of broths to choose from. Note that this location is in Allston - not Boston. THey have a small private lot you can park in.

Been going to the Chinatown original for years but happy to see them expand to Brighton last year, this has caused me to go a LOT more often. They have lots of big tables for parties and some parking. Glad to see they fixed their wait staff problem that they experienced in the winter of '08 but ever since spring '08, they've been great. And the whole time through, the food has been wonderful.
