“Great for a romantic date!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2014

My husband and I had a couple of free days while visiting Boston, and we spent one of them at the Museum of Fine Arts. We had a really great time, even thought neither of us is very artistic. It was very relaxing to stroll through the endless galleries of amazing artwork and marvel at the creativity that I don't possess! There are docents throughout the museum to answer questions or point you toward the highlights that most people come to see. Surprisingly, there is a fantastic café (more than one, actually) where you can stop for lunch, an appetizer, glass of wine, etc, to make a day of it. What a great idea, rather than a vending machine and can of Coke.

“Sargeant Watercolor Exhibit was a wonderful surprise”

What a treat to see the Sargeant watercolor exhibit. Amazing technique and the paintings were so unexpected. The pomegranates and scenes of the Swiss Alps were fabulous.

“Bring your walking shoes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2014

We have been to the museum on many occations. Mostly to see particular exhibits. One of my favorites was the Ralph Lauren automobile exhibit. We have yet to see everything the museum has to offer due to the size of the place. I liken it to The Louvre because regardless of how much time you spend, one trip will not satify your need to see more. and there always is so much more to see. All the greats are there and waiting for you to drop in.

“Love the MFA”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014

Been here a few times now over the years. I love how the exhibits change up, and how you can "get lost" wandering around and enjoying that art. The open case/restaurant is gorgeous btw, so I'd definitely recommend a visit there. Try their ceviche if it's still on the menu!

“MFA always a wonderful palce to spend a day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2014

I have been an occasional visitor at MFA for over 12 years and it never fails to deliver. Standing collection is outstanding and the special exhibits are well worth the wait they usually create. My wife braved the not-so-long line recently to view the Sargent Watercolors and walked away quite impressed with the breadth of his work. I peeled off on my own and decided to take in the Audubon exhibit and the Rembrandt etchings. A quick note to counter the food bashing I saw in some reviews...the Garden Cafe was a perfect spot for lunch! Ample selection of soups, sandwiches, drinks and really affordable desserts were the perfect fix for our lunch needs. The seating area was quite comfortable and we shared a table with two willing diners. If you want formal dining, this isn't the spot, but if you are like me and just need to recharge to enjoy more of the MFA, this is a great spot.
