"Praise God from whom all blessings flow," rang out from the Sunday Worship Service in the Old North Church, just like it has for 400 years. Known most to history as the location where two lanterns were hung in the steeple to warn the colonists that the British Regulars were headed out across the channel, "by sea," that night in April 1775 which prompted Paul Revere's Ride. We couldn't go inside because of the service, but it was still impressive and easy to see why the colonists would have chosen this as their signal location.

We loved our visit to the church, with its clean colonial lines and beautiful surroundings. The garden behind it has a chocolate making shop, plus several war memorials. Don't miss the beautiful tribute made of dog tags for every soldier killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Very powerful, knowing that each tag represents someone who made the ultimate sacrifice. Well worth the visit.

The church is expertly maintained and full of the history of the American Revolution. A minor charge for entry but the church is wonderfully restored and is n the Freedom Trial on the North End.

This is the Church where Paul revere hung the 2 lanterns. There is an admission fee, but there are people who provide information about the events and the church. There are also behind the scenes tour, such as a tower tour.

Just a beautiful church with incredible history. Definitely pay a little extra for the chance to go up towards the bells and down underneath to see the tombs. Liz our guide was so informative. Go and discover.
