We had a great time listening to the concert from the river, the atmosphere was electric and everyone had a ball.

We attended the pre-concert rehearsal on July 3rd. We sat along the river and had a lot of fun. Some people come hours early on the 3rd or 4th for good seats up close. We just sat on the ground and enjoyed ourselves just as much. We went to the concert on July 3rd and then didn't have to fight the crowds for a seat on the 4th. Rather, we watched the fireworks over the harbor near our hotel.

A true Boston institution. The 4th July Boston Pops concert was spectacular.
With “Boston Strong” on full display in the crowds at the Hatch Shell the mood was decisively determined and all the artists on the bill for the show had Boston connections.
It was our first Fourth of July and we flew in from South Africa to witness America’s Birthday celebrations. We were not disappointed!
The mood was festive and the party continued as the Pops left the stage and enormous fireworks brightened the night sky.

Awesome to say the least !! I saw them at the "Hatch" over the fourth. The Pops were outstanding and the fireworks fantastic. If you do not mind crowds, I recommend attending once if not more. We went around 6 o'clock and found a place to picnic with no problems. The security was heavy, but to be expected. Very exciting experience.

I came to Boston to hear them play at "the Hatch" on Independence Day. They were as great as I have ever hear them, and the fireworks, in sync with their music, were awesome!
The cops and the overdone "security" actually threatened the lives of many, those who were elderly, or too ill, or both, to make the requisite march, to get by the miles of barricades, to access "the Hatch". This "overkill" was very disappointing. However, "the Pops" made it worthwhile. Almost!
