Fantastic! A chance to walk the decks of a piece of the United States history right out of the history books. The fact that the U.S. Navy still keeps this as an active ship with present day sailors on duty is fantastic. Greatly preserved and well worth seeing! I recommend the guided tour if you have time as it tells much more about the vessel than most know. A great piece of our heritage and a monument to all those who served then and serve now in the U.S. Military. Not much of our history is taught today, and many young people have no clue about the early U.S. History, but to be able to walk the decks of something that was really there back then is truly a humbling experience. Make you proud to be an American for sure! And maybe just maybe it will spark those young people to start learning more about this countries beginning.

AWESOME!!
First, be prepared for a security check as you enter the area.
Second, my guide was knowledgeable, funny, and dedicated to his job.
The tour was fantastic. The information given was more than fantastic! My ONLY complaint is that I couldn't wander Old Ironsides freely afterwards.
If you're ANYWHERE near this majestic old lady, visit her!

I would not have wanted to be in the Navy back then. What a look into the past. I got the feeling that you would have to be under 5 foot 6 inches to be on this ship. Anything over that and you would hit your head on the ceiling beams. Well worth the time to visit.

An amazing historic artifact. All ages will enjoy this tour, a great joint venture of the Navy & Parks Department. "Old Ironsides" is a joy to behold and being able to hear the story and stand on her decks, see her guns, feel the breeze on your face from Boston harbor- is an experience unlike any other. A patriot and seafarer's must, but wonderful for all.

The museum is free. You are asked to donate. And you will certainly do it gladly.
See artifacts, a salon exclusively for ship models - and even a model of the Nantucket Lighthouse. Learn about life at sea. The upper floor is very interesting for kids as well.
