The Museum does a great job of making history interesting using all sorts of interactive exhibits for the kids. And if the kids are interested, their parents can actually pay attention too! Pretty cool.

We were very excited to be able to finally walk the decks of this fabulous icon of the sea.
The ship itself is amazing but we were also impressed with the enthusiastic and cordial crew members we met. It has to be a great honor to serve on this vessel and these folks were obviously enjoying their assignments.
Be sure to visit all of the available decks and plan to spend at least two hours on board.

Old Ironsides is a "must see" when visiting Boston. This tall sailing ship is so well restored and preserved it looks new (OK almost new). Being able to walk around the upper deck and gun deck was amazing. I could only imagine what the sailors must have felt while in the grip of battle during the fight for American independence. This was a step back in history.

We really enjoyed seeing Old Ironsides. We took the water taxi over from the Boston waterfront - great trip over. The guides really knew their history of the ship and answered every question. It was really fun going onboard and seeing everything up close and in person.

The oldest active duty ship in the US Navy, we were able to board and explore it. Wow! I am glad I wasn't in the navy then! It is really small inside. We needed to go through a security check point (active duty ship) but that wasn't a big deal. I am really glad that we stopped here to visit this bit of American history.
