This is pretty much the center of Old Boston. It is a great starting place to see the rest of the area. The lighthouses are in the nearby harbor. The train runs from/through here -- you can travel almost anywhere in the area --cheap. But the best part of this is that you can see some of the things that are written about in our American History! It seems to bring it to life. You can almost see and here the people who are our heroes moving and speaking. This is a must see.

This place is HUGE! But in that vastness is a myriad of culture and history! We loved walking the many sidewalks under the canopy of lush green foliage. Seeing the locals hanging out on blankets just relaxing was pretty awesome. Caught a little bit of some softball, too! Definite place to just go and relax.

Lots to do, great place to have a picnic, take a ride on the swan boats, take a nap, take a walk, go ice skating in the winter, read a book or close your eyes for a few minutes.

Good place to park for the day. On the weekend it's $12 all day. It's right in the middle of the city and most of the trolley tours pick up there.

Be it sprinklers or skating, the frog pond in the Common is great. Also loads of open space right in the thick of Boston, and across the street from the lovely Public Gardens (with their Swan Boats). Highly recommended.
