Starting at the Boston Common, we followed the brick trail from start to finish. So many historical sites along the way, the trail captures that era of American history before, during and after the American Revolution. Cudos to the City of Boston for preserving the Trail and the many historical buildings and sites. This is not a short walk and has many twists and turns, but relatively easy to follow. The best part is at the end of the day we used our Charlie card and took the subway back to our hotel.

Awesome way to explore the city and get to see all the top historical spots. Great for families with little kids because you can go at your own pace.

We tried to follow the Freedom trail but it was far longer and harder to follow than we thought. HOWEVER we did get on the Boston Hop on and Hop off bus so we got to see a fair portion of the freedom trail.

This is a lot of history packed into a short amount of time. recommend the tour to get the full experience. We liked our guide who sounded a lot like Steve Buscemi. Very knowledgable and quite a trooper for dressing in that garb during the summer months.

One tip - do this tour with a local or someone that knows all the history. I was lucky enough that my friend had lived in Boston for most of his life. He knew pretty much everything there was to know about Paul Revere and gave us a lot of great details doing it by ourselves wouldn't have been able to. It's hard to walk the whole trail as there are a MILLION cool things to look at along the way. If you go with a local they'll let you know which ones are worth seeing!
