Get ready for some walking with a comfortable pair of shoes because the Freedom Trail beckons. A easily followed route touching ALL the major spots associated with the American war for independance. A GREAT experience.

This is a great way to see some of the sights of Boston on foot, Make sure you allow time to stop off at the markets and to watch the street performers.

If you are in Boston you must do the Freedom Trail Tour. I was fortunate to be guided by Hannah Adams (Ms. Georgia) along the trial. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of American History made my 4th of July trip to Boston more meaningful. If all the tour guides who are part of the Freedom Trail are as enthusiastic and knowledgeable of American History as Hannah Adams, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this tour for adults and children. I started the tour at Boston Common. If you are taking the bus there is a stop right outside of Boston Common. When you exit the bus just walk toward the area where there is fountain/water feature, but instead of going to the water feature veer to the right and you will see the visitor center. Please see the website for the other starting points on the tour. You will not complete the entire trail while on the tour, but Hannah Adams did a good job of pointing the rest of the trail for independent viewing. Depending on the weather, bring an umbrella/raincoat, and make sure you wear good walking shoes. Finally, the cost of this tour was very reasonable considering the quality of the tour, and the fact that the cost of the tour helps to preserve Boston's historical sites. Have fun!

do yourself a favour and buy the Boston old tram pass . You get two days for the price of one and hop on and off all along the freedom trail. An economical way of getting around.
