Being from Australia, I know very little about squirrels and nothing about 'Make Way for the Ducks' statues. Garden is a peaceful, tranquil part of this busy city.

Great park to just hang out and have a leisurely picnic, a walk about or check out the interesting points of interest like the statues, ponds or the make way for ducklings statue. We took a nice stroll around the park and got in some great pictures.

A nice large public space. Well maintained and kept clean. The one thing about Boston is the cleanliness of the entire city, streets, subway system all very well maintained and clean. People were also very friendly.

You don't have to pay to visit sites like these. Very pleasant & a civilized way to visit the city. Easy to get to by bus (all day pass $2.50)

This park is the jewel of Boston. It is beautiful any time of year. That trees and plantings are always perfectly maintained. There are plenty of paths and benches to sit on and enjoy the views. There are many monuments and fountains. These include a wonderful statue of Washington (he liberated Boston from The English), and a statue to celebrate the invention of Ether. For younger kids there is also the Make Way for Duckling statues that is extremely popular, as are the alarmingly friendly squirrels. From April to September the swan boats provide a floating option to view the park.
Even the buildings around the park are generally attractive. So much of Boston is in short walking distance of the Garden that it a convenient visit from anywhere.

I prefer the Public Garden to the Boston Common - such beautiful plants, lovely pond and great location.

Just loved walking through here. The fall colours, sculptures, lakes. What a gorgeous park in a big city.

If the kids have excess energy have them run up and down Gallows hill. Your daughter's hair blowing in the breeze as she runs toward your camera makes an image you will treasure for years.

While we are entertaining children let them visit Jack,Kack, Lack,Mack, Nack, Oack, Pack and Quack - the characters in Make Way For Duckings - the sculpture is in the corner of the Public Garden.

It's a gorgeous park, in the middle of a city - it's absolutely perfect for a few minutes of rest and relaxation. It's what every city needs, and this one doesn't disappoint! Worth having a little wander around as there are some cool hidden gems around the park.

This, and the Boston Common are all part of an attractive city park, but a quick walk-thru is all you need to see it.
