A quick stop here will give an insight into who the services were done in a very different type of church. This was also the church where the signal to Paul Revere was given.

We did both a guided tour of the North End and then returned to walk through on our own pace. You will see Paul Revere's Home and North Church here.

Quaint neighborhood with delicious Italian food. The best lasagna and pastries you will find anywhere!

Walking the narrow streets and alleyways of Boston's North End is always fun Smelling the wonderful aromas of the shops, experiencing the energy of the neighborhoods, and getting a cannoli from a local pastry shop is a must when you visit the city.

A real Little Italy, particularly the side streets, generally safe because it is usually “self-policed” by the residents. Try some of the little eateries off Salem Street, sometimes the biggest tourist “draws” are not the best or most authentic.

We ate at Bricco Panetteria - fantastic food. Of course you must get a cannoli from Mike's - they were the best! Modern also has delicious Italian treats. There is a little pizza place called Galleria Umberto Rosticceria - best slice of pizza! The entry is a little garage door that they open, they are only open for lunch and you must pay in cash. So worth it!!

So many fabulous Italian restaurants and bakeries to choose from! I don't think you can go wrong! But do be careful with the car ... you CANNOT park anywhere on the street from 6pm to 8am unless you have a resident parking permit. So, if you must drive, scope out a parking garage before you go, or you are limited to the places which offer valet parking.

My friend and I had only 1 1/2 days in Boston. We spent
our first afternoon exploring the North End. Paul Revere's
house is so interesting, and you really get a feel for life
during those days. Do not miss the Old North Church.
We had a couple of guides who answered all of our questions
and learned so much in our short time there.
