“Educational and Enjoyable”

Saw the Library on President's Day. There were a lot of children as it was also family day but it did not feel crowded. The exhibits are interesting, educational, authentic, and very accessible. You feel like you got to know JFK the person as well as the president. JFK and his family are put in historical perspective. The museum uses the voices and images of the time as well as authentic artifacts which makes you feel like you were in the moment. The setting at Columbia Point offers great views of Boston. The cost is very reasonable. This is a very well spent 3 hours.

“Well worth a visit”

Being from Boston, and being alive during Camelot, I found the library wonderfull. Even just going for the view of the harbor is worth while. Any one interested in the life of JFK will love the library.

“A classic look at JFK and Jackie Kennedy”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Having visited only three Presidential libraries, I can't compare this one to all 13 but it definitely embodies the spirit and strength of John F. Kennedy. Situated on a harbor overlooking the sea, the massive glass and stone building is impressive and serves as a fitting monument. My husband, an architect, especially enjoyed the unique design of the building with its modern lines and many windows.

Inside, there's much to learn about JFK and Jackie. The orientation film provides a helpful overview of his Presidency. We enjoyed seeing his desk and the Oval Office setting but resented being asked to pay to have our photo taken next to it and were told that we were not even allowed to photograph the desk unless we paid. The interior is laid out in rich colors that give the feeling of a White House interior, with chandeliers and carpet to match. Many images and videos and original drawings by Jackie give an insight into her complex character.

As tourists without a car, we were happy to be able to take the T to a nearby stop where a shuttle picked us up and dropped us off a short distance away from the library.

I returned with my son, a college student, and we enjoyed a simple lunch in the onsite cafe. Prices were reasonable and the sandwiches were tasty.

Overall, if you're in Boston, you shouldn't miss this historic site!

“Interesting visit”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Enjoyed a trip to the JFK Library. Worth the T and bus trip. Easy to find. A good 3 or 4 hours to be spent at library. Plenty to keep the interest; particularly enjoyed the history concerning Cuban Missile Crisis.

Well worth the trip out of town.
