Dick's Last Resort says it's perfect for bachelorette parties, yet they don't take reservations or even have call-ahead seating. I called twice about our group of 10, and the first time was told Memorial Day weekend was really slow and there wouldn't be a problem. The day of, I called to confirm what time we were coming in and was told as long as we were all there together we would get seated. Nope. There was an hour wait, meaning a large group of dressed up were left standing awkwardly in their dressy outfits in the hallways of Quincy Market. (Also there is no bathroom, so we had to trudge through the crowds to one of the market's basement bathrooms.)

After a half hour and two conversations with the manager, we were seated in a covered patio area (it was 50 degrees and raining). It took another 20 minutes to even place our drink order. Only 3 of us even got those hats with rude sayings on them, which for some reason are one of the attractions of this place. The drinks were weak and the food tasted like KFC but for 3 times the price. As soon as we got our food we ordered our check.

The rowdy, raunchy atmosphere is why people supposedly go to Dick's, but it was filled with kids so the waiter even told us that he had to be careful what he said. It felt like a rude version of Chuck-E-Cheese with trash all over the floor. I can't imagine anyone would ever return to this "restaurant." I know that I won't and neither will the other 9 people I was with. So disappointed.

We were tired and needed a place to sit and eat. I am allergic to shellfish. The staff at Dick's took extra care to prepare a grilled chicken salad for me that was very good. My companion had the Chowder and said it was delicious.

You don't come to dicks for the food or the atmosphere. The concept is hysterical but the wait staff could use a script and some acting lessons. Instead of funny and entertaining they becomes obnoxious. They make silly paper condom style hats and write silly things on them. they really need to update their "hat" profiles....Been seeing and hearing of the same ones for years now. The food is overpriced and almost all fried. If nothing else the kids are entertained by the fact that the waite staff is out right rude.

Came across this place by accident whilst doing the Freedom Trail walk.
Server seemed surprised that we'd never heard of the chain & warned up that she will insult us but no offence meant.
Chicken Strips and the Philly Cheese steak were very good and came with fries that was the perfect size for lunch. They serve Ice tea in huge cups which is refected in the price, but at least you don't need a refil.
The food is reasonably priced and the hats created are very funny.
I did not like the way they printed off a suggested guide to tipping at the end of the bill as it tended to be higher than suggested eleswhere in the state. Surely that should be left to the individual to decide?
Would recommend for a lunch time bite and a broad mind.

Very appropriately named. We ate here because there was torrential rain and Legal Seafood had a one hour wait. We were a business group of 8 people from US, UK, S. Africa, Australia and Canada so to be honest, Dick's was perfect. The wait staff here are more like actors than waiters - and boy do they put on a show. Hurling insults and pushing buttons from the minute you walk in the door. They also personalize foul-humored slogans onto giant white hats then force you to wear them through the entire meal. It's really a great way to break the ice if you are with people you don't know all that well.

Our waiter slammed down our knives and forks in disgust and rolled his eyes after each order....it was hilarious. The food is average. Don't get experimental here and although my salmon dish was great, my colleague had a less than memorable seafood platter.

The restaurant is situated in a sort of indoor marketplace where the vendors stay open until 9pm. If you make it as far as dessert - apple pie was excellent - the waiters seem to actually embrace the fact that you stayed that long and offer smiles.

Eat at your own risk but you definitely will have a great time dyiing
