“Appreciate modern thought and technology, by seeing how it used to be...”

Shows the state of life of a slave in the pre-war South. It is inspiring that B T Washington was self-motivated enough to become a leader/teacher by overcoming what appeared to be impossible odds.

“Whats with the photo of the Nation Monument in Washington?”
Reviewed January 2, 2012

The Booker T Washington National Monument is a lovely place to walk and informative to visit. Prior to my visit I didn't know the things every American should know about this important American Educator.

“Signs Needed!”
Reviewed February 17, 2011

Booker T. Washington is a small, but educational and interesting park. The only problem is the directional signage leading to the park. On what is a primary route to the park, there is NO signage, and the route is complicated. I had to ask two cops for assistance, and one of them had to ask a supervisor. When I came to a T intersection, I knew the parke was one way or the other but, lacking a sign, I turned the wrong way. I would think that NPS - or more likely, Virginia - could do much better!
