“Cozy and conveniently located cottage made a relaxed and fun long weekend.”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

My boyfriend and I had a great time in Asheville for Labor day weekend. These cottages are minutes from downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge parkway. The friendly staff made excellent recommendations from natural attractions to dining and night life. The cottage itself (we stayed in #10) was slightly larger than a typical hotel room. The small kitchen really came in handy. We spent a lot of time on the small front porch and really enjoyed the heavily wooded location. The privacy definitely outweighed the proximity to the highway. All in all we had an amazing weekend and our stay at the Pines Cottages was definitely an integral part of our fantastic experience. Economical. Comfortable. Convenient. We loved it there and would recommend it to anyone. We will be going back!

Alan and Tara, the owners of "The Pines Cottages" go out of their way to ensure you have a positive stay. We stayed in Cottage #2 from August 1-15. The cottage was remodeled, and more importantly, clean. The cleaning staff also go out of their way to ensure you have everything needed to enjoy your stay. I highly recommend The Pines Cottages.

We stayed here for three nights in cabin 13 and had a great time being alone in the cutest little cabin in north Carolina! It was quiet and peaceful with easy access to the highway to get to downtown Asheville for our nights out on the town. Great for couples!

My husband and I just returned from a two-day stay at The Pines with our two children. We stayed in cottage 15, which I believe is the only two-bedroom cottage. I would recommend this for those who have more than two people or just want a little more space. We enjoyed it very much. The cottages are not fancy, and they are furnished with what would accurately be described as vintage furniture, but they are simple and were sufficient for our needs. Our cabin was very clean. The bathroom shower had a rainfall-type shower head that we really enjoyed. The kitchen is nice and large and had everything we needed for a short stay. We enjoyed sitting on a vintage glider rocker on the front porch for our coffee in the morning and our wine in the evening. There IS a highway that runs above the property, and when we were outside we could hear the hum of some traffic -- you can't see the road because it's obscured by trees -- but it's not loud and we couldn't hear it at all inside. I really didn't see this as a big problem. Tara offered suggestions on nearby dining places when we asked for her advice and they were good choices. These are simple accommodations at a reasonable price.

When looking for a place to stay in the Asheville area, we wanted to be close to the attractions, a place with a "vintage cabin" feel, and needed a place for 5 adults to sleep that was affordable. We found all of this when we recently stayed at The Pines Cottages! Our family of 5 had a wonderful time here. We were only able to stay for 2 nights because of time restraints, but wish we could have stayed longer. The cottages are all so cute and each have a different personality. The grounds are very well kept and the owners were so friendly and personable. We loved the idea that we could choose the ccottage we wanted to stay in and booking online was so easy! If we are ever back in the area we know exactly where we will stay! Thank you!

Room Tip: Cottage number 15 sleeps up to 8 people. Besides the table in the kitchen, this cottage also has a...

We found the cottages just perfect. My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 nights and were very pleased with everything. We kinda got the feel we had our own home. Besides being most satisfied with the accomodations, the staff was very helpful with anything we asked of the area. From directions to borrowing a few books, they were great. We stayed in cabin 7 and it was better than what we expected and wanted in a mountain retreat. Very close to all to do there...good places to eat, etc. Very friendly and welcoming...plus, privacy. Next visit we are definitely going back there.

My friend and I had last minute desires to explore the natural areas around Asheville and still be close to the city on a much needed vacation. We were doubtful of the peace we'd be provided as we first pulled in as the cabins are located close to the highway. However, I can't recall hearing a single car our whole stay, and the location made everything accessible. The staff were extremely flexible, friendly and accommodating. We felt like we were staying with friends who knew exactly what we needed to relax. We stepped back in time and were so happy to find our small rustic cabin had more than we needed. We were so thankful of the respite, when we left we left a long thank you note to the amazing owners!
