1900 Inn on Montford
Ranked #13 of 39 Asheville B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

Lynn & Ron, the owners of 1900 Montford, are living their retirement dream and graciously sharing it with their guests. Built in 1900, this home retains its elegance and beauty. Its public spaces are beautifully furnished and provide every amenity to make guests feel welcome and comfortable: complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks and bottled water accompanied by baked goods. A wide variety of books, newspapers and movies are available. A three course breakfast served in the dining room transports one back to a time of elegant dining and provides the opportunity to meet other guests. The Edith Wharton room's luxury bedding, fireplace and lovely decor also made the grade. Extra credit for the great bluegrass duet and Biltmore wine provided on Saturday evening.

We recently stayed at the B&B and absolutely loved it! We stayed in the Fitzgerald. The bathroom is amazing, the bed is very comfy, and the sheets are wonderful! They added several unique perks to staying at the Inn, including social hour with Biltmore wine & a ride downtown in Ron's Rolls Royce on Saturday! Would definitely stay again!

This place was perfect for our honeymoon. The staff are are very friendly and accommodating. Each room has it's own personality and was very homey. The food was delicious and the place was gorgeous!! It was well worth the money and would highly recommend it!

As a seasoned traveler it takes a lot to impress me, but I cannot write enough after my stay at this wonderful establishment. The 1900 Inn on Montford, quite frankly, blew me away!
I am generally trepidatious of B&B’s, having had mixed experiences at several in the past. I dislike the house noise, creaky rooms, antiques to an extent you don’t want to touch anything, and stuffy owners, that can be found in some. That told, The 1900 Inn on Montford has renewed my faith in B&B’s for several key reasons.

Perhaps the most important of these reasons was the unique room selection. This Inn has several rooms to choose from several ranging from quaint to very large. In fact, some are in a separate “cottage house” and extremely private. Something that really stands out as a unique amenity in each, are the extraordinary bathrooms. Think steam baths, wall jets everywhere, modern tile, heated floors, fiber-optic lighting, and jetted tubs. All that mixed alongside luxury appointments everywhere you turn. Our room was on the top floor, and had a private entrance option which h was great for slipping in and out. It was also over 1000 sq ft! Simply put, it was a luxury apartment.

The overall appointments and general quality of the Inn is phenomenal. Whether on the porch or common areas, care has been made to every detail, to each corner and drapery. You are enveloped in luxury and antiques while at the Inn, but not in a stuffy or “old” way. Everything is richly adorned, balanced with comfort. This is where so many miss the mark in my opinion. They go antique to the extent that comfort is secondary. Not here.

The Inn owners and staff were awesome. They kept breakfast conversation moving, and made everyone feel an extraordinary welcome. One evening we had live music and wine with the owners and guests before dinner, a great way to socialize with other guests and kick off the evening.

Another important thing to note, sound was not an issue in this B&B. While some are creaky, I don’t recall being able to hear anyone moving within the halls or floors.

Overall, I cannot say enough and would highly recommend this Inn to ANYONE wanting to be amazed in Asheville! From one VERY picky traveler to any others out there; I doubt you will be disappointed.

The staff were great to my wife and I. They were very accommodating and conscious of my wife's food allergies when preparing our meals. We stayed in the Fitzgerald room and really enjoyed the airbath tub. After getting in late after the wedding, they kindly offered to bring a light breakfast up to us the following morning. Their recommendations of local places to eat were spot-on.

Coming from a construction background, I was pleasantly surprised to see all the historic and architectural detail of the house and how well they took care of it. The house is beautiful and nicely decorated.

We would definitely like to make a return visit in the near future.

We recently spent two amazing nights at the 1900 Inn, accompanied by our two Labs. The inn couldn't have been more pet friendly, and the breakfasts were superb, as were the accommodations. The weather was atrocious for March 16,17, but we hardly noticed with the radiant heat in the floor, the gas fireplace, the steam shower, etc. We couldn't have asked for more! Room Tip: If you have pets, choose the Rosetti Room.

My husband and I enjoyed an impromptu get-away to the Inn in February. We stayed in the Rosetti room. It was a cold, snowy day so both the fireplace and the whirlpool were much appreciated amenities. The room was impeccably clean and luxurious and our hosts could not have been any nicer. Lynn gave us recommendations for dinner, and boy are we glad we followed her advice (we had a delicious dinner at Nine Mile.)

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with the Rosetti room with its whirlpool, fireplace and steam shower with bod...
