“The Gem of Asheville”

We had such an amazing time at the Inn on Montford. My husband and I stayed in the Fitzgerald room, the bathroom was so beautifully refurbished and elegant. The fireplace in our room kept us warm and toasty on the cold winter nights. The owners went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. I have a gluten allergy and the owners were very thoughtful by ensuring that I had a beautiful and tasty breakfast every morning. The owners gave us wonderful advice on where to eat around Asheville. We would stay at this charming and quaint B&B again and again.

Room Tip: The bathroom is stunning in the Fitzgerald room of the main house! The floors light up and the jacuz...

My wife and I stayed at the 1900 Inn this past weekend for our 14th anniversary. We had a wonderful time. First of all, we've stayed in quite a few B&Bs over the years, and we easily put this one in the top 5 of our experiences. Dana, the concierge, greeted us on arrival and gave us a great tour of the home, including how everything worked in our room. The room itself, The Fitzgerald, was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom...well, read the other reviews. It is awesome! We are remodeling our own master bath at home and wish we had incorporated some of the ideas Ron and Lynn (the owners) did in the Fitzgerald bathroom.

Each evening at 6, the owners throw a little wine social downstairs...a great touch that we've rarely seen in our travels. Breakfast is served at 9 with all the guests eating together at the main dining room table. The food was excellent and Lynn does a fantastic job facilitating conversation between the guests.

All in all, we highly recommend this Inn. You won't be disappointed.

What do the words quaint and charming bring to mind. Well, if you don't get a visual on those words then you have never been here.

Quaint is the many different rooms that are available. If you want private then there are three fabulous rooms in the carriage house that will suit you just fine and two of those rooms allow pets (could you ask for anything better than that). If you want to be part of the main stream then the main house is there for you.

Charming is the Inn Keeper here. Lynn and Ron are beyond wonderful and cordial and did I mention friendly? Every time we saw them they were always asking if there was anything they could do.

Breakfast was like OMG. Each morning was a culinary adventure. They were tasty and bountiful. Breakfast has never been on our menu at home but here there was no way that we could resist.

Each room has a certain charm and I will admit that I have read the good and bad reviews of this place and all I can say is that if you gave some people a golden egg they would complain that it was not the correct carat. Some people are just not gonna be happy no matter what you do for them so, they should just get over themselves.

Room Tip: Privacy pick Wm Morris or Rossetti

We had a great stay at the Montford Inn just after Christmas. The hotel was still decorated for the holidays and added to our romantic getaway. We loved staying in the quieter part of town and the surrounding homes in the neighborhood were beautiful. It was a 15 minute walk downtown which was perfect for us. We stayed in the William Morris suite. While everything in the main house was lovely, I would not choose this suite again based on the price and the fact that the room felt like a big bathroom. It was not worth the price. The shower is right next to the bed and the bathtub and sink are in the middle of the room. It was not exactly what I had expected but we did enjoy ourselves and the private patio and fireplace were nice. The breakfast was outstanding! Best breakfast in town. We would stay here again, but choose one of the more affordable rooms.

Amazing Innkeepers, great music on Saturday eve, wonderful location, and the rooms are not only gorgeous and well-appointed, they're value-priced! I'll always come back to this Inn when I come to Asheville.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Zelda suite. Romantic (attic space with lovely architectural features)!! 2-person b...

We stayed in the carriage house for part of our honeymoon, and it was perfect! The staff was courteous and helpful in every way. It was clean and very advanced technologically(heated tile floors, entertainment center), we were very impressed. There was breakfast in bed every morning, and they even surprised us with a gift when we checked out. We definitely plan on coming back and possibly staying in the main house! The carriage house was very private and just what we wanted for our honeymoon though!

We had a wonderful stay in the Fitzgerald room for our anniversary. The room is beautiful and extremely comfortable with a lovely gas fireplace. The bathroom was truly fabulous, with atmospheric lighting, a two-person air jet tub and a waterfall shower. Breakfast was a three-course event and a good start to our days. I am a vegetarian and all of the non-vegetarian breakfast dishes were adapted for me to eat. Ron and Lynn were friendly and welcoming, full good recommendations for things to do and places to eat around town. If you are looking for a place to get away for a relaxing and romantic vacation, you should definitely check out 1900 Inn on Montford.
