Red Roof Inn Asheville West
Ranked #40 of 66 Hotels in Asheville
Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for two nights this past weekend to visit Asheville and to attend the BBQ Festival in Maggie Valley. The staff was very pleasant and the room was clean; bed was comfortable. Main reason we choose Red Roof Inns is because they allow pets at no charge AND it's a non smoking property! Highly recommend.

We stayed one night here while visiting the Biltmore. Our room was very clean and nice! Probably the best place we stayed on our trip and best price! I would recommend this Red Roof Inn if your in Asheville!

Asheville West proved to be our base in the NC Mountains for outdoor activities. It's a great town and is central to many hikes and restaurants in the area. We have stayed at many Red Roof Inns over the past 2.5 months of travel, and we found this one to provide the best overall experience. The front desk service was friendly, efficient, and were prepared to help in any way.

We often stayed in our hotel room til noon or thereabouts, so the housekeeping would often come by and be unable to clean our room. We weren't overly fussed about having the room tidied, so when we requested towels they were either given to us on the spot from the housekeeper at the door (whereas at other Red Roofs the housekeeper would say they would return with towels and never come back, even after multiple requests) or the front desk staff would bring them directly to our door on request when we got back in the afternoon. We found that very accommodating, and were thankful for their attentiveness and helpfulness. We were also relieved to find that we could speak to the housekeepers easily and there was no miscommunication, which is rare across Red Roof Inns generally.

The internet speed and connection strength was average. On one day during our 6 day stay, the internet was down and a part had to be replaced overnight to get it to work. Due to this inconvenience the hotel reduced our stay that night by $20, which we were very thankful for. The service was just above and beyond any other Red Roof we've stayed at. The staff really do take care of their guests, which is a nice surprise. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. We saved a lot of money staying here, were comfortable in our room and got really good service.

Room Tip: There is an elevator at this hotel, which is a nice addition! So we were able to easily stay on the...

We try and take a short trip to Asheville each year and we always stay at this Red Roof. . Staff is great. . The rooms very clean.. and close to everything.. only a few minutes to downtown or to the parkway.. The cost is really affordable which gives you more funds for sight seeing.

My wife and I have never stayed at a Red Roof Inn. I had some idea that they were kind of the bottom of the value hotels. We went to the front desk and asked to see a room before we checked in. It was smaller but pristine! King size bed, laminate floors, nice TV. No fridge or microwave but we made do without. 100% smoke free. Friendly check in and out. I am sure that not all Red Roof Inns are created equal but this one did the chain justice. Therefore I would look at staying at others now. Cracker Barrel is almost next door. Definitely a consideration if staying in west Asheville NC.

This was a nice, clean location that came across to us as welcoming. Relatively quiet area, despite being near the interstate. Customer service was great. Price range was good. Not too far away from downtown Asheville. Recommended.

Nice place to stay! Customer service is great, no breakfast bar, but fast food next door and Cracker Barrel is 150 yards away. Close to Biltmore Hotel and other north side restaurants. All rooms are non smoking.

Room Tip: Try to book a room that faces west. No morning breakfast, but Cracker Barrel is 150 yards away.
