“Excellent Service, Fabulous amenities!”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

I have always thought Holiday Inn's were ''few-star' quality. I was proven wrong! This hotel is awesome. It was very clean, had excellent information about the area, incredibly service and friendly staff who went above and beyond in helpfulness.
My favorite feature here was the pool area being indoor AND outdoor, it is lovely for couples, and relaxing with a hot tub, fully clean equipped private shower area in indoor area, as well as fun for kids, and an outdoor pool area. The hotel has a spacious, huge open cathedral lobby, with a great restaurant and lounge.
We liked that there were rear door entries when we came in later in the evening, and parking was full up front, we could park and get inside at other entrances/exits.
There was a game room, and nice furniture, very, very nice. 6 min. to downtown Ash!!
We will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: First main floor, I would not recommend, as the cleaning/main laundry room for the maid service had...

We had stayed at this hotel when it was a Ramada, and Holiday Inn has done a nice job of refreshing. Our room was very large, comfortable beds/linens, bathroom/linens, clean and in good repair. We were on a package which included a good hot/cold buffet with meats, eggs, gravy, potatoes, typical cereals, many bread/pastry options, waffles, variety of fresh fruit. One could also order from a menu. They have a nice pool indoors which goes into an outdoor connecting pool. We also ate in the restaurant one night for dinner and everyone in our group said they had an enjoyable meal--salmon, chicken, salads, steaks. The wait staff was on their second night of work, so service was slightly slow, but exceedingly attentive and pleasant. The location on the west side is reasonably close to many restaurants and attractions, however, the exit from parking lot to interstate is difficult if not dangerous, especially during rush hours. the elevators need work as they were slow and sometimes we had to use stairs [very challenging for upper floors]. Elevator noise and doors closing loudly can disrupt sleep, so ask for rooms away from elevators if possible. Front desk staff were helpful.

Room Tip: The second floor of rooms exit to the back parking area which makes it very easy to enter/exit with...

The handicapped accessible room (110) is one of the worst "accessible" rooms we've ever experienced. There were NO electrical sockets accessible for my handicapped daughter to reach. The few that were in the room were located behind the mattress, behind a table down low to the floor, and behind the wardrobe area. The bed was so high she was unable to transfer in/out of the bed from her wheelchair unassisted. Only 1 room lamp was accessible. The pole lamp and 1 bedside lamp were not accessible because a table was in front of the pole lamp and the bed was too close to the wall to reach the other bedside lamp. The thermostat was too high to adjust from a wheelchair. The room is also directly across from the laundry area. Each time we opened our door we were greeted with a view of the laundry facilities and the workers gathered there. Usually the laundry door was left open. The workers were very friendly, but loud. This is where the cleaning carts would be lined up, making it difficult to get around in a wheelchair. This room is also just across the hall from the game room, which has a VERY LOUD hand hockey game. We could hear the puck slamming back and forth until closing time at 10pm. There was a sign stating the game room door must be kept open. I can't think of a worse location in the hotel. For an "accessible" room this was unacceptable.

Room Tip: Stay away from the first floor by the pool if you want quiet. Room 110 is across from the laundry a...

Hello Robin H,

We apologize for the inconveniences you faced during your stay. Our accessible rooms are ADA compliant and meet all the currently required standards of accessibility. We use lowered bed frames in all of our accessible rooms, and based our placement of the thermostat on the required standards. However, we can see that this did not meet your requirements, and for that we apologize; we want all of our guests to be comfortable when they stay with us. And thank you for bringing to our attention the disruption caused by some of the staff- your comments will be passed on to ensure that issue is resolved.

When we visited the Biltmore Estate, we stayed at The Holiday Inn Biltmore West. This hotel was in a great location near the highway. It was nearby Ashville, the Biltmore estate and a number of restaurants. The room was fairly large, clean, and comfortable. There was also a large indoor / outdoor pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Asheville. NC.

Great hotel. Close to highway. Clean and comfortable. This is the nicest holiday inn I have ever stayed in. Indoor pool. Does not include breakfast but they have breakfast. It seemed like there was no where good to park to be close to our room.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room and park on the left end facing the front door.

My friend and I stayed here the night of June 18th enroute to Myrtle Beach. The front desk people were very helpful the rooms were clean and updated. The only complaint we had were the beds weren't as comfortable as I usually find at IHG properties. I would stay here again if passing through.

I have to admit I was nervous when we pulled up as the exterior looks outdated but OH! The beds were SO COMFORTABLE!!!! The hotel was very clean, had an awesome indoor/outdoor pool that our 6 teen girls loved, and it was in a great location. We traveled 8 minutes away for breakfast vs. eating at the hotel for breakfast as we were in ASHEVILLE for goodness sakes so WHY not take advantage of some of the BEST FOOD IN THE USA?!? The West End Bakery, Biscuit Head, and Sunny Point are all together in West Asheville and are farm - to - table eateries with fabulous food! This hotel was excellent and I AM a hotel snob! We will be back!
