“Very nice, probably will return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2008

We only stayed one night but the king, whirlpool bed room was very nice.
Nice view from the room, considering the area.
There was only one small problem, the occasional loud vehicle from the nearby highway.
Otherwise it was perfect.
Clean, updated and as far as I could tell no pets were kept in our room.
We've been to Asheville many times but this is our first at this hotel. We probably will stay here the next time we visit. Hopefully for a longer stay so we can really take advantage of the extras we didn't have much time for this time around.

I had the chance to spend two weeks at this facility durting July 2008. Both experiences were wonderful. The first week I was alone, and stayed on the newly remodeled 4th Floor. Terrific!

The second week I stayed on the pet friendly 1st floor, with my husband and my small dog. Both rooms were excellent. I love this hotel.

They are also very helpful toward motorcycle riders. They park the bikes under the portico where they can watch them from the front desk. A beautiful, friendly spot. Very convenient to the local VA Hospital, downtown and other Asheville attractions. Practically on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We have just returned from a week's vacation- stopping in Asheville NC on our first night. We had a AAA Tourbook with us and noticed that it suggested this Holiday Inn. We saw that it was considered a small-scale hotel and was classified as a three diamond which we liked. The price was right so we decided to stay. The front-desk staff was so friendly and helpful giving us directions and even how to save money on going to the Biltmore on Sunday rather than Saturday. We were on a pet-free floor (5th) and our room was at the very end of the hall. Our room was clean, decorated so nicely, and the beds were extremely comfortable. In fact, we decided to stay an extra night there. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from our windows. One of the best treats that this hotel offers is their coffee, hot tea, and cookies that they offer all of their guests in the afternoons. The cookies were scrumptious! It made us feel right at home!

  • Liked — The comfortable rooms and the friendly staff
  • Disliked — I can't think of anything

We had a great stay & I think that this is one of the nicest Holiday Inns that we have ever stayed. Very clean & we traveled with our cat. No problems & I could not tell that a pet had ever been in our room. The pool was very clean & our breakfast was good. (not a free breakfast) but we were not looking for the free eating.
Located within 10 minutes of the Biltmore.
I suggest this hotel to anyone. The rooms had lots of space a fridge & microwave, also a very nice shower.

This was a last minute stay that turned out great. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We had a 6 month old who had it with being in the car. The desk agent quickly had houskeeping clean a room so that we could check in early. I'll tell you what the beds at this hotel are amazing. Very charming place. Ask for room 312. Great view of the mountains.

  • Liked — the bed
  • Disliked — Would of been better if it was closer tho the Biltmore Village

My mom and I booked this hotel through Biltmore as part of their Bed and Breakfast package. We couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was extremely friendly, warm and inviting lobby and neat/clean rooms. I enjoyed snagging a couple of homemade cookies each night while getting directions for various locations about Asheville. Convenient to getting to downtown Asheville and Biltmore. A car is a must but directions were easy especially with all the local maps and desk staff to help.
As far as pets, NC looks like a very pet-friendly state from all the hotels who allow pets. We weren't aware of any pets and the few we saw outside doing their business we did not hear them inside.

We were just passing through Asheville with our dog and were very worried about staying at a "pet-friendly" hotel. Well, we couldn't believe how nice this hotel was (for a passing-through hotel) and the "pet room" wasn't different then any other room.... no smell, stains or anything to think a dog has stayed there. The staff was great and we had a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant (try the parmigiana or lasagna). We will definitely be back with or without our dog. We were pleasantly surprised!

  • Liked — nice staff, affordable, great pet friendly rooms, easy location from highway, not scary
