What a surprise, we did not plan to stay but it was late, we found a coupon and was a little afraid to use it, but the room and service was great we even upgraded for a fee but it was worth it. The only draw back would be the breakfast, but I don't eat breakfast. :-)

Room Tip: They will let you see the room before checking in.

We showed up to check in at about 10 pm. There are a couple of buildings and the way they are numbered is very confusing. Once we found our room we barely managed to park in a very tight space and lumbered up to the second floor with our luggage. Once there we saw that our room was totally trashed with empty beer bottles and crap everywhere. There was an indian guy cleaning rooms a few doors down and we tried to tell him, but he was just a jerk or just didn't understand our frustration. Then a young guy showed up and offered to clean the dirty room while we stood in the cold. We declined and so he offered us the room the indian guy was cleaning. We accepted but ONLY because all of Asheville seemed booked up at the time. The room wasn't terrible and the sink and mirror we're actually in the bathroom, which I consider an accomplishment for most hotels. The young guy was helpful and very apologetic- not his fault and he did as he had to. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again because of the layout and the issue we had on a one night stay.

Up until the last day of our 4 day stay, I was prepared to rave about the friendly check in, comfortable bedding, clean rooms, and an HD tv that actually has a real HD picture on most channels. Then, on the last day, Sunday we came back at 3:30 to find our room was not cleaned after a 4 hr absence. The ice machine in our building seems permanently out of order, based on the sign on the door. When checking out, we were locked out by the electronic key as we loaded the car, and the desk clerk claimed that ALWAYS happens when you are scheduled to leave. They need to rethink their service approach now that the remodeling is done.

Room Tip: Rooms on theWest side have badly cramped parking when busy.

Other than an awkward motel layout, where you had to go to another building for breakfast, it was a pretty nice experience. The room had everything we needed, microwave, fridge, large flat screen TV and WiFi worked well. The breakfast was good. Close to Blue Ridge Parkay. Room was nice and very clean.

We had one of the new suites and it was excellent. It was very spacious with a jacuzzi and big screen TV. There was something in the room that needed fixed and it was done very soon after I mentioned it at the desk. Breakfast was good. Their are many restaurants up the road about 2 or 3 miles. They had maps on the counter to various attractions and also Asheville.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor away from the road.

This hotel was outrageously priced. First, it is not a "hotel". Rather it is a run of the mill motel with small rooms that open to the outside. Most guests must walk outside to to a separate building for breakfast. The room was stale and unappealing smelling -- like someone smoked in it several weeks ago and it was never adequately cleaned. When we turned on the fan, the odor of burning dust filled the room. The room was small -- just a regular double queen room with a pull out couch instead of the second bed and with a microwave and mini fridge stuffed in the corner. The bathroom was old, the tub was damaged. When we checked in the hotel clerk did not give adequate directions to our room -- she told us which building but not where in the building. Finally the room was billed on Expedia as being in "central Asheville." That was false -- its 5 miles from downtown on a major commercial drag. We got the room through an Expedia "discount" and still paid $132 (including taxes and fees).

My daughter & I stayed here on our last night during our trip to the mountains. It was outside of town & very close to the parkway. I was worried when we pulled up & realized the rooms had outdoor entry ways instead of interior hallways. We checked in & were given directions to our room. It was spotless. The room was smoke free, had no foul odors or obvious signs of were & tear. We had a mini fridge & microwave & a brand new 42 in flat screen TV. The room offered lots of outlets for charging our cellphones & electronics. The bathroom as spacious & clean. We were very happy with the breakfast items like biscuits, sausage & gravy & fresh waffles. This hotel also offered boiled eggs & pastries. It looks like an old travel lodge from the outside. One downside is that we could tell people were smoking on the shared balcony because it was coming into our room.
