“Quality (or lack of) Inn.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2011

We arrived at this hotel after a long day at the Biltmore. Our "non smoking" room smelled like a mixture of smoke, urine and lemon pledge. The pillows were folded in half for decoration but when you unfolded them they were still very small and flat (you only get three pillows on each bed). The bathrooms were clean and they were in good condition except the toliet that chooses when it wants to flush. The free breakfast had a limited selection of hot food and the decaf coffee was empty and was never filled back up. The regular coffee and hot water also ran out during our time at the "corner cafe breakfast." Overall, the price was reasonable but not for what you receive in return.

I posted a review about the comfort of the beds from my stay in june of this year. Crystal Camacho the Guest Relations Manager replied to my post saying that I should come back that they have renovated and have all new beds. We booked with them for mid October and got up there to find nothing had been done and all the beds were the same. This left me in a last minute rush trying to find a local hotel in the same price range. We stayed at the comfort inn in black mountain for the first night then moved to the days inn across the street from this hotel for the remainder of our stay. Came back to talk to the manager the next day to let her know what had happened. She informed me that the manager from the comfort inn often times replies to their reviews on here and that there renovations wont happen until Feb or March 2012.

My advice, dont stay here. Not just because of the comfort of the beds but because they dont care about our opinions and would rather post replies that are filled with lies in an effort to make their establishment look better than it is.

Room Tip: Stay at the Days Inn across the street :)

Thank you for reviewing us again on Trip Advisor. I regret that the full renovation has not yet begun. As I am sure you know sometimes the dates for renovations get pushed back. We will be beginning our renovations in 2012. We do care about our guests comments & feedback. I do apologize for any inconvenience that this caused you during your travels.

Normally stay at Marriott hotels, but decided to stay here at Quality Inn. The place was clean and the people were helpful. The rates were very reasonable.

Room Tip: The place was very quiet (in the rear of the hotel), I hate loud hotels.

We stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites in Asheville because it was about 15 minutes from the Biltmore and had an indoor pool and hot tub. We stayed on hotel reward points (I think it was only 10,000 points, which is pretty reasonable.)...the nearby comparable Fairfield by Marriott had priced at $200 for a Friday night in October (fall leaves drive up the prices). A cheap room at Grove Park Inn priced at $289.

The check-in was quick and easy. The room was a decent size and was pretty clean. Popcorn ceiling, textured walls, new mattress (but too soft and hurt our backs), 2 star quality furniture, no fridge, small mostly clean bathroom (no exhaust fan and some mold around tub and wallpaper edges). The pool area had external walls on three sides and was pretty chilly and was poorly lit. The pool was a fine size and the hot tub was very warm. The concrete of the hot tub and pool needed a good scrubbing.

Breakfast was fine with yogurt, cereal, boiled eggs, sausage, muffins, make your own waffles, milks, juices, coffee, fresh bananas and apples, etc. Staff was polite and efficient.

The hotel was not fancy but clean, convenient, and servicable. If that's what you want, it's a good choice.

From check in to check out we enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a great location for visiting both Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Steve at the front desk was pleasant and welcoming, really nice guy. The room was clean and comfortable with a great showerhead, we could really relax after the long drive. The only king room available was a suite with a spa; it was fun and really nice for a couple. The complimentary breakfast was good and the common areas for guests were very clean. My wife and I both agree we would come back and would gladly recommend this hotel to friends.

Although Quality Inn's are one of our favorites this one turned out to be just place to sleep because we were fortunate to even get a room in the area. All hotels were full and over-priced to accomodate the change of season and the fall colors in Asheville. No elevator and we were on the second floor-- only thing left in the area-- two double beds---large bathroom with a nice shower head-- refrigerator and microwave--- tight quarters in the room. Generally Average in all areas. We didn't bother with the breakfast buffet-- elected to get a cup of coffee and go down the road to eat breakfast. This particular hotel would not be a place I'd return but it served the purpose at the time. Wound up eating at the Pizza Hut down the road which was typically okay.

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs try to get a room on the first floor
