“Not Worth the Money....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2007

My husband and I went to see the fall colors in Asheville. This was the only hotel not booked up. Beds were uncomfortable, and after walking on the carpet for approx. 10 minutes, the bottom of my white socks were BLACK. YUCK! I had to put towels down all over the room so we could avoid touching the carpet. Two nights was $220.00!! We won't stay there again.

  • Disliked — location is not convenient to anything of interest, room/carpet was dirty

Stayed here because it was within my limited state travel budget, but it was fine. The wireless internet did not work at our original room (a standard) but they offered us another room in another building and the wireless worked there. Yes, it was a small room, but it had fridge, micro, ironing board, etc. desk and sofa, not bad for the smallest room they offer, and the location is convenient by car to all Asheville attractions. The only real negative was that the heat/ac unit is right beside the bed and blows right onto your face, as well as the fact that the only window in the room opens right out to the walkway so has to be closed all the time for privacy. It was clean and re-cleaned prompty each day. Linens are nothing to brag about, but okay. The breakfast offered is the standard, with those weird scrambled eggs and sausage patties, as well as cereals, waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, etc.

I would probably stay here again for the price. If you stay here, request a room away from the highway and on the second floor, and get a larger than standard room if possible. They looked pretty nice.

Air conditioning was broken and room was hot. Paid over 100 per night but bedding, sheets and dinginess level was on par with a motel 6 for only 50 per night. Accidently left sentimental personal articles in room but when we went back an hour later after checkout to retrieve them, they were gone and according to staff had disappeared. Cleaning staff resisted our efforts to go through lost and found ourselves. You are better off at the motel 6.

We spent three nights here rather than paying much more for a downtown location...total cost $253. The room was small with not much room to move around. It passed my wife's cleanliness tests with ease and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent...eggs, sausage, waffles and the other assorted breakfast items. The dining area did get a bit crowded at times.
While there were no restaurants within walking distance of the hotel there were ample choices from 1-3 miles away. The motel is just about a half mile from Highway 40 and a mile from Highway 240 so access to downtown and the Biltmore Estate is less than 10 minutes. Driving Tunnel Road will take you downtown as well but is about a fifteen minute drive.
The workers were polite but not particularly friendly. The pool looked clean and refreshing although we did not go in.
The Quality Inn is a good choice if you want to save substantially over downtown hotels and don't mind a short drive and a smaller room.

The good first - very convenient location - near a Blue Ridge entrance, a short ride to downtown and the Biltmore; comfortable beds and bathroom. Breakfast room was spacious enough, breakfast was good for most people, nice pool area. However, the 2 double beds along with a large table and chair took up the entire room; I had to block most of the HVAC since it blew right on us. Maybe the larger units are more spacious and don't have some of the problems we encountered. Overall, I would stay here again. Veggie/organic lovers - try Rosettas Kitchen downtown.

My mom and I stayed here for one night. The hotel was clean and quiet. This is a motel style building so be warned if this is not your preference. This motel is not really near downtown but you can get there quickly. However, it is located in between Black Mountain and Asheville which is nice.

This place was great! We had a king room but quickly changed it to a king suite for more space. This place is immaculate! Breakast offered scrambled eggs and sausage- as well as all the usual "continental" breakfast fare. Just don't purchase your Biltmore tickets from the hotel. They charged me $40.00/ticket. At the Biltmore they were only $38.00. The hotel gave us some runaround about the hotel's ticket price is cheaper for weekends. We purchased our tickets on a Monday morning. Also, we noticed the Biltmore ticket prices were permanent- not a sign that got changed. Stay here- just don't buy your Biltmore tickets here.
