My wife and I stayed at the Country Inn for 1 night on our way to Savannah, Ga, and I must say, the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Sarah, the desk clerk, greeted us cheerfully and professionally. Our room, (Rm 107) was perfect for our needs. No sooner had we gotten our bags in the room than my wife ran some hot water and hopped into the in-room whirlpool. The adjacent bathroom was spotless, as was the room.
Soon after checking in, Sarah called to see if we needed anything – nice touch. The bed was verrry comfy…we got a good night’s rest. Upon later asking Sarah for nearby restaurant recommendations, she pointed us to the “Wild Wok” which is right around the corner. We got some wonderful Thai-curry take out (silverware and plates are conveniently available in the breakfast area at night). As far as location, we did not travel into downtown Asheville, but it’s only a 5 minute drive from the Inn.
The next morning we enjoyed the included breakfast (your choice of buffet-style scrambled eggs, omelets, sausages, bagels, muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, waffles). The food wasn’t “knock-your-socks off” fantastic, but it was decent. I must say, the waffles were scrumptious though. I recommend you get to breakfast early, otherwise it gets a little crowded. All in all, we highly recommend the Country Inn. We’ll likely stay there again on a return trip to Savannah.More
