Jim, Christina, and their staff are exceptional in every regard. Wonderful, relaxing stay just minutes away from great restaurants and the Biltmore House. The social hour was a great way to meet other guests and get to know the staff.

Room Tip: Room off the kitchen on the ground floor was secluded and very quiet.

We stayed in the Arbor Room in late October for 2 nights. The room was cozy and the bathroom very spacious. The room has a private entrance and porch. Breakfast was served at 9am with no flexibility. If you wanted to get an early start to your day you would have to skip breakfast. The breakfasts were good but with the number of guests at the Inn they could have used more help. We had waffles the first day and it took some time to serve everyone. You were also only given a choice of orange juice. With the price point of the room a wider selection of juices should have been offered. The Inn is beautiful but it is not decorated in period pieces.

Donna was very helpful with reservations and our tickets to the Biltmore Estate. We enjoyed our stay and loved Asheville.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us some feedback. Our guest’s opinions are very important to us and we take each one to heart. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and our great staff team and hope you have an opportunity to return sometime soon
As a point of clarification, we serve breakfast at 9am each day because we believe that the special interaction that guests have when dining together is an important part of the guest experience…..kind of a “fellowship of the table”. Many guests make lasting relationships at these meals (and at our wine social hour) and say this is a key reason they choose a B&B. At the same time if a guests needs to leave early, we always provide either an early breakfast or pack an extensive “go bag” of yogurt, fruit, granola bars and other breakfast goodies to get them on their way. Apparently we were unaware of your needs so regretfully did not offer this option to you. Our apologies.
We enjoy making your visit a relaxing and festive experience and hope that you will return again to see what a truly great experience you can have at the Beaufort House Inn.

The Beaufort House Inn is one of the most beautiful homes I've had the pleasure of staying in. Jim and Chris were welcoming and more than accommodating to my family, as was the entire staff. The Arbor Room was perfect for the three of us (me, my husband and 18 mo. daughter) and the sheets were by far the most comfortable I've ever slept in! Gorgeous gardens and huge wrap around porch were inviting. Homemade, fresh breakfast was amazing. The atmosphere of the entire estate was relaxing, cozy and quiet. We will definitely be back soon!

First, the good: owners and staff are lovely, generous, and very accommodating. The house itself is a pleasure, and enjoying a cup of coffee or glass of wine on the porch is a must.

That said, the "cozy" (read: small) Haseltine Room was not worth the peak-season price that I paid. Actually, it was not so much the size of room that I minded, but rather that the bathroom had been shoehorned into it. The description on their website reads that the bathroom is a "European-style, tiled water closet". Well, everything is better in Europe, right! The entrance to this "water closet" had both a hinged glass shower door and a wooden door, with the doors having about 2 inches of space between them. So a trip to the bathroom meant stepping into the water closet, closing the shower door behind you, then reaching over the shower door, grabbing the edge of the wooden door, and trying to pull the door closed with enough force so that it would (sort of) close while also yanking your hand out of the way to avoid it being crushed. There is nothing so romantic as saying to a loved one: "I have to go to the bathroom, will you help me close the door?"

The other issue I had was my own fault for not reading ahead of time that breakfast is "gourmet". If I have a choice between vegetable quiche and chocolate-chip pancakes, I'm going to choose the latter every time. If I have a choice between vegetable quiche and starvation, again, I will choose the latter. Unfortunately for me, the former was more representative of the fare offered at the Beaufort House.

Room Tip: Avoid the Haseltine Room

Thanks for taking the time to provide us feedback on your stay. I must say we appreciate you kind comments and tend to agree with your statement that “the owners and staff are lovely, generous and very accommodating” (smile). At the same time, we are dismayed that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectation.
The room you selected is the smallest and most economical of our 11 rooms, and most guests find it charming, cozy and one of their favorites. We have not had similar complaints to yours, but we will look into the layout and see if we can improve it. We think that the pictures and description of this room on the website do accurately represent the accommodations.
Also, we want to assure everyone that we put a lot of heart, thought and energy into the quality and presentation of our breakfasts. As you can see from the ratings, our breakfasts consistently receive accolades. We alternate sweet and savory entrées each day, so while the Frittata you were served on your one-night stay is a guest favorite, you may have preferred the Waffles, French toast or the sweet entrée we served the next day. We would have been delighted to accommodate your preference for a sweet entrée had we known.
We know we cannot always please everyone, but it is our commitment never to let a guest leave unsatisfied. So when we know something is a concern, we do whatever it takes to make it right. Our reputation is important, and a positive guest experience is our most important goal. That is why we have received only three 3 Star ratings in over 5 years and 450 guest evaluations.
We thank you for your feedback, and hope that at some time in the future you will give us the opportunity to show you how exceptional a stay at the Beaufort House Inn can really be.

This place is a must see if you plan on visiting Asheville. It is a beautifully restored historic home with lush gardens and an awesome wrap around porch for lounging and relaxing. We stayed in the Savannah cottage and found our room to be clean and comfortable, with a private deck and the softest sheets I've ever slept on. Minutes from shops and great restaurants, the Beaufort House Inn is nestled in a perfect location, yet still able to offer plenty of privacy. The owners are very welcoming and know how to put together a truly gourmet breakfast with lots of fresh and seasonal ingredients. We had a wonderful time there and will definitely be back!!

Spent a few relaxing days in hippie heaven (Asheville), and highly recommend the Beaufort House Inn. Breakfasts were first- class, and the Savannah Cottage was as advertised. The hosts were welcoming and made us feel at home.
