“Fantastic cabin and excellent location!”

My 16 year old daughter and I had a fantastic two-night stay at Wishing Tree Cabin, on our way to Florida. We arrived extremely late (midnight) and the cabin was well-lit, immaculately clean, and ready for us to just fall asleep. The decor wasnice, kitchen had everything we needed, the wifi worked great, and the garden and setting were also very serene and beautiful. The location was perfect for what we wanted which was to go whitewater rafting on the French Broad River, and also spend some time in downtown Asheville, both within a 20-30 minute drive. We met the owner the day after arrival, and she very graciously gave us restaurant recommendations in Asheville, which we followed up on and enjoyed (Salsas)! I'd love to return to the Asheville area and would stay at this cabin again in a heartbeat. :)

“A Doll's House”

There is so much to be said about this petite picturesque “doll house” with its artistic layout surrounded by an enchanted forest. First and foremost, the cabin is immaculate! Aesthetically pleasing, it has a cobblestone mantlepiece, oil paintings, wood carved art, hardwood floors, fresh flowers (a plus). Netflix (bonus) for your entertainment. Additionally you are afforded all the amenities of home, comfy bed, soap, towels, washer/dryer/detergent/stove/microwave/kitchen utensils, etc. It is a perfect fantasy for a brief getaway for two!
There is a window a/c unit in the bedroom, but cabin is small so between a/c and ceiling fan in living room we remained comfortable. Warning to the big & tall, bathroom navigation maybe a little interesting in that I am 5ft tall and could touch the ceiling as I stood in the shower (while that made me feel like the” Queen of the World,” my 6ft 2inch husband felt a little claustrophobic…he got over it
Cherry on the top, is the warm, sweet nature of Rebecca, the owner! She was a lifesaver in that she directed us to the cabin via phone. We were minutes from the place, but was lost for about an hour! WORD TO THE WISE: when it comes to Mapquest “Trust, but VERIFY.” Please note that the street(s) that lead to the location ARE NOT MARKED, so even when we asked locals for directions to Baird Cove Road they were clueless! Baird Cove is off Weaverville Road (also NOT MARKED, but it is the same as US-25/Merrimon Avenue). Look for “Jimmy's Automotive/Fireplace Restaurant/sign for Baird Cove Community Church as landmarks to locate where to turn onto Baird Cove Road.
P.S. Ask Rebecca to show you their “Bee Colony” it’s SWEET!!!

“Super Special , great location”
Reviewed June 25, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We were a bit awlstruck by how fantastic the cabin and the gardens are. It's clear the owner is an artist and has a green thumb. I wish we could live here forever. It was so easy to get into town. We loved eating at nearby Stoney Knob restaurant . We had the best day tubing on the Green River. We just loved it.
